QoE in Pervasive Telecommunication Systems
2009The concept of offering pervasive telecommunication services, i.e., services that are available anytime, anywhere and from any terminal, is very appealing. Providing pervasive services to users has been the ultimate goal of telecommunication systems for many years. We introduce pervasive systems and services from the telecommunication perspective.

QoE is a metric that relates to our subjective expectations, and even though these expectations are not objectively measurable, many factors that contribute to them are. For example we can measure the loss of IP packets in the network and make an estimation on the effect that this will have on QoE.

QoE Dimensions and QoE Measurement of NGN Services
2010In varying environment such as nowadays packet-based communications, providing NGN (Next Generation Network) services with quality as in traditional voice communications to users with high expectations is a great challenge. Therefore, the following aspects of QoE (Quality of Experience) should be taken into the consideration: technical parameters ...

Adaptive networked multimedia services deliver superior overall quality by optimizing a trade-off between the available resources and the delivered quality. Typically this means achieving an efficient system where the maxium amount of users are serviced with the sufficient quality.

This work explores the true user QoE according to the users' preferences and behaviors when the users know that they are being observed and concern about their privacy. We propose a systematic privacy-aware QoE evaluation scheme based on the observable user data.

Proceedings of the 1st Workshop on Quality of Experience (QoE) in Visual Multimedia Applications, 2020
In the past 20 years the "Quality of Experience" (QoE) has increasingly become a necessary aspect to be taken into account by the multimedia industry. In fact, the QoE has allowed to extend the concept of image quality by considering other aspects to evaluate "the delight or annoyance of a customer's experiences with a service" [1].

The focus of this chapter is on monitoring and management of delivered QoE in multimedia systems. Monitoring the QoE typically involves collecting a wide range of available quality performance indicators (QPI) and successfully interpreting these measurements.

Meta-Modeling QoE: Towards a Generic Methodology for Building QoE Models
2014In this paper we propose a methodological framework for modeling Quality of Experience (QoE) for media services in a generic manner. We consider QoE as a multi-dimensional concept dependent on several factors related to the service itself, its resource requirements, its users, and its context of use.
