Background: Superficial thrombophlebitis is a common complication associated with intravenous (IV) cannulation. We compared the efficacy of topical heparin quick penetrating solution (QPS) and IV hydrocortisone in the prevention of superficial ...

AbstractWe study the unit group U of Z[Qp], where Qp is the generalized quaternion group of order 4p, p an odd prime. U decomposes as U = H ⋊ ± Qp, and the torsion-free complement H of the trivial units is described explicitly in terms of matrices over algebraic number fields. The case p = 3 is treated in detail.

p-torsion coefficient systems for SL2(Qp) and GL2(Qp)
AbstractWe show that the categories of smooth SL2(Qp)-representations (resp. GL2(Qp)-representations) of level 1 on p-torsion modules are equivalent with certain explicitly described equivariant coefficient systems on the Bruhat–Tits tree; the coefficient system assigned to a representation V assigns to an edge τ the invariants in V under the pro-p ...

Effect of astaxanthin in type-2 diabetes -induced APPxhQC transgenic and NTG mice
Objectives: Aggregation and misfolding of amyloid beta (Aβ) and tau proteins, suggested to arise from post-translational modification processes, are thought to be the main cause of Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Abstract The connection between two recent descriptions of tensor hierarchies — namely, infinity-enhanced Leibniz algebroids, given by Bonezzi & Hohm and Lavau & Palmkvist, and the p-brane QP-manifolds constructed by Arvanitakis — is made precise.
