Evaluation of Tp-e interval, Tp-e/QT ratio and Tp-e/QTc ratio in patients with acute pancreatitis

open access: yesActa Medica Alanya, 2020
Aim: Acute pancreatitis may affect cardiovascular system regardless of etiology. Electrocardiographic parameters such as QT interval, corrected QT interval (QTc), Tp-e interval and Tp-e/QT, Tp-e/QTc ratio can be used to evaluate myocardial repolarization.

Acute effects of coffee on QT interval in healthy subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The coronary endothelial function is recognized to have an important role in the physiology of the diastolic ventricular relaxation, a phase of the heart cycle that influences the electrocardiographic QT interval.

EFFECT OF ANAESTHESIA ON THE QT INTERVAL [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 1989
A prolonged electrocardiographic QT interval may be harmful during general anaesthesia. It may be prudent, therefore, to select anaesthetic agents which have the least effect on the QT interval. In a controlled study, propofol has been shown to have less effect on the QT interval than thiopentone (P less than 0.05).

The Relationship Between Interest Rates and Agricultural Commodity Price Dynamics

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The U.S. Federal Reserve has undertaken several interest rate interventions in the past decade. This study explores the relationship between U.S. corn and soybean prices and Federal Reserve monetary policy interventions, in the short and long run.

Effect of oral fluconazole 1200 mg/day on QT interval in African adults with HIV-associated cryptococcal meningitis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We assessed the effect of fluconazole 1200 mg/day on the QT interval in cryptococcal meningitis patients. Mean corrected QT (QTc) change from baseline to day 7 was 10.1 ms (IQR: -28 to 46 ms) in the fluconazole treatment group and -12.6 ms (IQR: -39 to ...

A Literature Survey on Potential Private User Information Leakage in Metaverse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This survey explores potential privacy risks in the Metaverse, focusing on personal data inferred from virtual reality headsets embedded with passive brain‐computer interfaces (BCI). It reviews how age, gender, and ethnicity can be predicted using neurophysiological signals, (e.g., electroencephalogram). The survey also explores future threats from non‐

Estimation of cardiac QTc intervals in people prescribed antipsychotics: a comparison of correction factors

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Psychopharmacology, 2022
Background: A prolonged electrocardiogram (ECG) QT interval is associated with cardiac events and increased mortality. Antipsychotics can prolong the QT interval.

A Robot‐Assisted Remote Rehabilitation System for Ankle Fractures Based on Predictive Force and Full‐Cycle Training Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a robot‐assisted remote rehabilitation system for postoperative ankle fractures. The 2.634 kg modular system uses wireless control and deep learning to predict force delays, achieving 100 Hz control (normalized root mean square error ≤ 10.89%).

Development of an efficient mice model of cancer‐associated cardiac cachexia

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This work establishes a preclinical framework for targeting ubiquitin pathways to mitigate the morbidity of cancer‐related cardiopathy. Our integrated approach delineates a hierarchical progression from subcellular dysfunction to macroscopic cardiac deterioration. These findings mechanistically link tumor‐induced cachexia to cardiac dysfunction through

Molecular and clinical determinants of drug-induced long QT syndrome: an iatrogenic channelopathy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
More than 70 drugs present on the Swiss market can cause drug-induced long QT syndrome (LQTS), which is associated with torsades de pointes (TdP) arrhythmias, potentially leading to sudden cardiac death. Basic and clinical investigations performed during
