Prolongation of the QT interval by ketanserin [PDF]
Summary In hypertensive patients single doses of ketanserin 40 mg prolonged the corrected QT interval (QTc) for at least 8 hours, with a maximal increase of 35 ms (P less than 0.001, n = 6) after 2 hours. During chronic dosing (20 and 40 mg b.d.) the QTc was further prolonged, by 46 and 45 ms respectively.

Pharmacogenetics of Drug-Induced QT Interval Prolongation: An Update [PDF]
A prolonged QT interval is an important risk factor for ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. QT prolongation can be caused by drugs. There are multiple risk factors for drug-induced QT prolongation, including genetic variation.

Trigger versus Substrate: Multi-Dimensional Modulation of QT-Prolongation Associated Arrhythmic Dynamics by a hERG Channel Activator [PDF]
Background: Prolongation of the QT interval of the electrocardiogram (ECG), underlain by prolongation of the action potential duration (APD) at the cellular level, is linked to increased vulnerability to cardiac arrhythmia.

A Common Genetic Variant Risk Score is Associated with Drug-Induced QT Prolongation and Torsade de Pointes Risk: A Pilot Study. [PDF]
Background -Drug-induced QT interval prolongation, a risk factor for life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, is a potential side effect of many marketed and withdrawn medications.

Beyond a prolonged QT interval
A hypocalcaemia case is presented with convulsions, electrocardiogram (ECG) changes and laboratory findings suggestive of osteomalacia. This case constitutes a rare presentation of osteomalacia-induced hypocalcaemia.

Phase 1b study of anlotinib combined with TQB2450 in pretreated advanced biliary tract cancer and biomarker analysis. Abstract Background and Aims We evaluated the efficacy and safety of the antiangiogenic tyrosine kinase inhibitor anlotinib plus TQB2450, a programmed death‐ligand 1 inhibitor in pretreated advanced biliary tract cancers (BTCs ...

QT peak prolongation predicts cardiac death following stroke [PDF]
Cardiac death has been linked in many populations to prolongation of the QT interval (QTe). However, basic science research suggested that the best estimate of the time point when repolarisation begins is near the T-wave peak.

Prolonged QT interval in Rett syndrome [PDF]
Rett syndrome is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder of unknown aetiology. A prolonged QT interval has been described previously in patients with Rett syndrome. To investigate QT prolongation and the presence of cardiac tachyarrhythmias in Rett syndrome electrocardiography and 24 hour Holter monitoring were performed prospectively in a cohort of 34 ...

Corrected QT Interval in Children With Brain Death [PDF]
Prolongation of the QT interval is a well-documented finding in adults with severe brain injury. However, QT prolongation has not been well documented in the pediatric population with brain injury. Our objective was to determine the range of QT intervals

Prolonged QT Interval: A Tricky Diagnosis? [PDF]
Prolonged heart-rate adjusted QT intervals on the electrocardiogram (ECG) are associated with an increased risk for coronary heart disease and sudden death. However, the diagnosis of the prolonged QT interval is hampered by lack of standards. We studied variations in the prevalence of prolonged QT, based on different common definitions, in a large ...
