Effects of L- and N-Type Ca Channel Blocker Cilnidipine on Changes in Heart Rate and QT Interval During Dialysis

open access: yesKidney & Blood Pressure Research, 2017
Background/Aims: Hemodialysis patients have poor prognosis due to increased prevalence of cardiovascular diseases. Treatment to suppress increases in sympathetic nerve activity and QT prolongation may have the potential to reduce the occurrence of these ...

Late INa as a Therapeutic Target: New Strategies, Computational Modelling, Drug Development, and Clinical Translation

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Nav1.5 channel, a major isoform of voltage‐gated sodium ion channel, is mainly found in ventricular cardiomyocytes, playing a key role in generating essential cardiac action potentials for normal heart rhythms. Mutations in Nav1.5 have been associated with severe heart conditions such as long QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, cardiac ...

Absence of relevant QT interval prolongation in not critically ill COVID-19 patients

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
SARS-CoV-2 is a rapidly evolving pandemic causing great morbimortality. Medical therapy with hydroxicloroquine, azitromycin and protease inhibitors is being empirically used, with reported data of QTc interval prolongation.

Metal‐Free Ternary‐Composite Aerogel Based on Graphitic Carbon Nitride, Graphene Oxide, and β‐Cyclodextrin for Synergistic Adsorption and Photodegradation of Organic Dyes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A novel metal‐free g‐C3N4/GO/β‐CD aerogel exhibits a high adsorption capacity of 653.2 mg/g for RhB. The synergistic adsorption‐degradation effect of the aerogel enables the complete elimination of organic dyes. Fixed‐bed and recyclability tests demonstrate its potential for continuous industrial wastewater treatment.

Additive Manufacturing of Hot‐Work Tool Steel by In Situ Alloying Using Laser Powder Bed Fusion and Directed Energy Deposition—Strategies to Improve Chemical Homogeneity

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
To support future alloy development a powder mixture is processed by laser additive manufacturing. The powder mixture containing Mo‐ and W‐rich tracers is processed by powder bed fusion using single and double laser exposure and by directed energy deposition which provides drastically enlarged melt pools.

Inflammatory Shift in Chronic Rhinosinusitis Amidst Guangzhou's Urbanization (2000–2018)

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) exhibits temporal and geographic diversity in pathological endotypes with progressive eosinophilic infiltration, while the underlying causes remain unclear. Current pathological endotypes determination relies on mean cell count per high‐power field, requiring accuracy optimization.

The Effects of the Adenosine Receptor Antagonists on the Reverse of Cardiovascular Toxic Effects Induced by Citalopram In-Vivo Rat Model of Poisoning

open access: yesBalkan Medical Journal, 2015
Background: Citalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor that requires routine cardiac monitoring to prevent a toxic dose. Prolongation of the QT interval has been observed in acute citalopram poisoning.

Association of Cat Sensitization With Comorbid Asthma in Patients With Allergic Rhinitis: A Real‐World Study

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma (AS) comorbidity (AR + AS) is increasing and is associated with severe allergic symptoms. The impact of cat dander sensitization on AR + AS remains unclear. Methods In this retrospective study, 1154 patients with AR alone and 213 patients with AR + AS were enrolled at the Third ...
