Control of plant height by 24 alleles at 12 quantitative trait loci in rice

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2019
Plant height (PH) is controlled by quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in rice. In the present study, a recombinant inbred line population developed by crossing two rice cultivars, Lemont and Yangdao4, was grown in eight environments for QTL analysis ...

Molecular-genetic marking of Brassica L. species for resistance against various pathogens: achievements and prospects

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2019
Cruciferous plants  belonging to the  genus  Brassica of the  Cabbage family (Brassicaceae) are cultivated  as vegetables, oilseeds and forage crops; they occupy one of the first places in Russia in the gross yield of vegetables.

Cryptanalysis of QTL Block Cipher

open access: yes, 2017
QTL is an ultra-lightweight block cipher designed for extremely constrained devices. The cipher has two versions, QLT-64 and QTL-128 supporting key lengths of 64 and 128 bits, respectively. In this paper, we present the first third party cryptanalysis of QTL. We first introduce related key distinguishers for full versions of the cipher.

Unravelling the Genetic Structure of Local and Mainstream Red‐Pied Cattle Breeds Using Genomics and Extended Pedigree Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT During the last decade, there has been a growing interest for local and endangered breeds as they are often seen as more resilient and healthier than mainstream breeds. They can also provide high added‐value products like meat or dairy products.

Association of a non-synonymous substitution in the condensin NCAPG gene with traits of eggs in laying hens

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2016
One of the most important areas of research in the biology and genetics of farmed animals is one of identification of genes controlling the expression of traits with practical importance for animal breeding.

Development and characterization of near-isogenic lines for quantitative trait locus qDT.3B.1 underlying drought tolerance in wheat. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Genome
Abstract Drought is a critical challenge to wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) productivity. The quantitative complexity of drought tolerance makes breeding for this trait difficult. Developing near‐isogenic lines (NILs) targeting quantitative trait locus (QTL) for 1000‐grain weight (TGW) under drought stress can effectively identify key mechanisms and genes.

The multidimensional regulation roles and mechanisms of calcium in fruit quality

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review explores how calcium signaling molecule integrates plant hormones, environmental cues, and developmental signals to influence external fruit traits, internal nutritional properties, and physiological disorders. ABSTRACT Calcium (Ca2+), a dual‐functional mineral that serves both as an essential structural factor and a signaling molecule ...

Allele-informed QTL-seq identifies Hd18 as a minor modifier of heading date in elite rice cultivars. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Genome
Abstract Fine‐tuning heading date is critical for optimizing yield, grain quality, and local adaptation in rice (Oryza sativa L.). QTL‐seq (where QTL is quantitative trait locus), which integrates bulked segregant analysis with whole‐genome resequencing, provides a rapid and cost‐effective approach for identifying QTLs underlying complex traits ...

Constitution and function of intergenic genome regions in cultivated versus annual wild soybean in China

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Three‐case restricted two‐stage multi‐locus multi‐allele genome‐wide association study identified main‐effect genes and detected the regulatory effects of intergenic loci on genes, enabling comprehensive dissection of the genic‐intergenic genetic system for quantitative traits and providing a strategy for studying their genetic basis.
