Magnetic lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) biocatalyst for integrated valorization of tilapia by‐products and biodiesel biorefining

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 1835-1860, July/August 2026.
Abstract The immobilization of lipase B from Candida antarctica (CALB) on an amino‐epoxy functionalized magnetic support (Fe3O4‐PEI‐DGEBA) resulted in a highly stable and efficient biocatalyst for biofuel production from tilapia oil. The synthesized support was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray ...

Active and Versatile ROP Aluminum Catalysts for the Controlled Limonene Oxide Polymerization and Copolymerization With Anhydrides

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
Highly active aluminum catalysts for the ring‐opening copolymerization of LO and PA able to produce syndiotactic alternating copolyester within 3 h are presented. The role of DMAP as cocatalysts for the copolymerization is key and is involved in the opening of the anhydride, however, it blocks the catalytic activity for the LO ROP.

p‐Sulfonatocalix[4]arene‐Based Ratiometric Fluorescence Chemosensor Array for the Differential Detection of Polycationic Peptides

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 7, July 2026.
A ratiometric fluorescence chemosensor array based on pyrene‐functionalized calixarenes enables complexation‐induced aggregation sensing of polycationic peptides in water. The system discriminates closely related sequences differing by minimal arginine content, including biologically relevant coronavirus spike protein cleavage‐site motifs, highlighting

Fluorinative Olefin Bond Functionalization of Selected Functionalized Cycloalkenes

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 4, July 2026.
Palladium‐catalyzed ring olefin bond difunctionalization, through functional group and substrate‐dependent arylfluorination, of selected functionalized cycloalkenes has been studied. Palladium‐catalyzed ring olefin bond difunctionalization through arylfluorination of selected five‐, six‐, and seven‐membered functionalized cycloalkenes has been studied.

Self‐assembly and Lateral Cobalt Coordination of a Fivefold Symmetric Cyanostar Macrocycle on an Au(111) Surface

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 24, 23 June 2026.
Herein, we report the first example of the formation of a close‐packed, regular 2D monolayer of a fivefold symmetric cyanostar macrocycle on an Au(111) surface under ultra‐high vacuum and the structural modification of such self‐assembled architecture upon cobalt atom deposition.

Activation of Aryl Halides by Triplet–Triplet Annihilation Upconversion Enabling Coupling Processes Under an Open‐to‐Air Environment

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 24, 23 June 2026.
Triplet–triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA‐UC) performed inside supramolecular viscoelastic gels enables efficient CC and C–heteroatom coupling reactions under green LED irradiation in open‐air conditions. The gel network restricts oxygen diffusion, preserves triplet states, and allows aryl halide activation through upconverted excited states ...

Xanthone and Flavone Derivatives as Dual Agents with Acetylcholinesterase Inhibition and Antioxidant Activity as Potential Anti-Alzheimer Agents

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2017
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a multifactorial neurodegenerative disorder that is associated with the elderly. The current therapy that is used to treat AD is based mainly on the administration of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors.

Thiazolidinones: novel insights from microwave synthesis, computational studies, and potentially bioactive hybrids

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry
Various 5-arylidene derivatives were prepared via a Knoevenagel condensation-type reaction of aromatic/heteroaromatic aldehydes with rhodanine or thiazolidine-2,4-dione (TZD) catalyzed by EDA/AcOH under microwave heating.
