It is demonstrated that the surviving fraction of a population of cells with heterogeneous radio sensitivity, like that composing most malignant tumors, conforms to a different linear quadratic survival relation for dose less than about 3–5 Gy and dose ...

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Convergence Rates for Least-Squares Regression [PDF]
We consider the optimization of a quadratic objective function whose gradients are only accessible through a stochastic oracle that returns the gradient at any given point plus a zero-mean finite variance random error. We present the first algorithm that

Universality and Thouless energy in the supersymmetric Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev Model
We investigate the supersymmetric Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) model, $N$ Majorana fermions with infinite range interactions in $0+1$ dimensions. We have found that, close to the ground state $E \approx 0$, discrete symmetries alter qualitatively the spectral

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...

Speculative Holdings under Linear Expectation Processes---A Mean-Variance Approach [PDF]
In this paper, we considered a discrete time abstract market model where the associated commodity is storable. Also, instead of assuming expected profit maximizing speculators, we assumed they employed mean-variance approaches.
