Fresnel Lens with Embedded Vortices
Vortices of different charges are embedded in a wavefront that has quadratic phase variation, and the intensity distribution near the focal plane is studied. This method may be useful in realizing complicated beam profiles.

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Redistribution of damping in hyperbolic systems of conservation laws
By a change of variables that redistributes damping among the equations of systems of balance laws in one space dimension, it is demonstrated that dissipation induced by friction, viscosity or other physical mechanism, manifested in the decay of “entropy”

Functionally graded metal–ceramic femoral stems are engineered through continuous UMAT‐based stiffness tailoring, eliminating discrete material interfaces while enhancing biomechanical compatibility. Low‐index power‐law gradation optimizes load transfer, reduces stress shielding, and controls implant–bone micromotion, highlighting a materials‐design ...

In this paper, we investigate the necessary optimality conditions of the discrete stochastic optimal control problems driven by both fractional noise and white noise. Here, the admissible control region is not necessarily convex.

Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...
