Variational Autoencoder+Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient addresses low‐light failures of infrared depth sensing for indoor robot navigation. Stage 1 pretrains an attention‐enhanced Variational Autoencoder (Convolutional Block Attention Module+Feature Pyramid Network) to map dark depth frames to a well‐lit reconstruction, yielding a 128‐D latent code ...

A Fully Soft Sensing Suit With Optimal Sensor Placement for Real‐Time Motion Tracking
A fully soft, skin‐conformable sensing suit integrating stretchable sensors, liquid metal wiring, and soft electrodes was developed using direct ink writing, with sensor placement optimized through an automated algorithmic pipeline. This system enables accurate and unobtrusive real‐time motion tracking, providing a scalable, material‐based solution to ...

This study introduces a data‐driven framework that combines deep reinforcement learning with classical path planning to achieve adaptive microrobot navigation. By training a surrogate neural network to emulate microrobot dynamics, the approach improves learning efficiency, reduces training time, and enables robust real‐time obstacle avoidance in ...

: In this work, Voxel‐SLAM (simultaneous localization and mapping) is introduced: a complete, accurate, and versatile LiDAR (light detection and ranging) ‐inertial SLAM system consisting of five modules: initialization, odometry, local mapping (LM), loop closure (LC), and global mapping (GM), all employing the same map representation, an adaptive voxel

Feature from recent image foundation models (DINOv2) are useful for vision tasks (segmentation, object localization) with little or no human input. Once upsampled, they can be used for weakly supervised micrograph segmentation, achieving strong results when compared to classical features (blurs, edge detection) across a range of material systems.

Structurally unstable quadratic vector fields of codimension two
In 1998, Artés, Kooij and Llibre proved that there exist 44 structurally stable topologically distinct phase portraits modulo limit cycles, and in 2018 Artés, Llibre and Rezende showed the existence of at least 204 (at most 211) structurally unstable topologically distinct codimension-one phase portraits, modulo limit cycles.

Ferroelectric compute-in-memory annealer for combinatorial optimization problems
Computationally hard combinatorial optimization problems (COPs) are ubiquitous in many applications. Various digital annealers, dynamical Ising machines, and quantum/photonic systems have been developed for solving COPs, but they still suffer from the ...
