Proglacial lake evolution coincident with glacier dynamics in the frontal zone of Kvíárjökull, South‐East Iceland

Interaction of ice‐contact lake and a glacier terminus is described in a highly dynamic Icelandic glacier. We identified main factors controlling development of the glacier terminus: variable subglacial topography, fast ice flow and debris cover insulating effect.
