Calculation and Measurement of RFID Tag Critical Frequency
This paper deals with undesirable phenomenon in inductively coupled RFID system, i. e. by fading out the amplitude modulation of carrier signal in RFID reader. It is caused by inaccurate tuning of RFID transponder resonant circuit.

Prevalence and Trajectory of Household Material Hardship Among Children With Advanced Cancer
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Families of children with advanced cancer living in poverty experience inferior outcomes including poor parent mental health and worse child quality of life. Household material hardship (HMH: food, housing, transportation, and/or utility insecurity) is a modifiable poverty exposure—and potential intervention target—that ...

Active tuning of high-Q dielectric metasurfaces
We demonstrate the active tuning of all-dielectric metasurfaces exhibiting high-quality factor (high-Q) resonances. The active control is provided by embedding the asymmetric silicon meta-atoms with liquid crystals, which allows the relative index of ...

Environmental factors and semen quality
An increasing number of reports suggest that chemical and physical agents in the environment, introduced and spread by human activity, may affect male fertility in humans. This article aims at evaluating the impact of environmental exposures (pesticides, phthalates, PCBs, air pollution, trihalomethanes (THMs), mobile phones) on semen quality, by ...

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours

Factor Substitution and Unobserved Factor Quality in Nursing Homes [PDF]
This paper studies factor substitution in one important sector: the nursing home industry. Specifically, we measure the extent to which nursing homes substitute materials for labor when labor becomes relatively more expensive.

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between
