Evaluation of LoRa Network Performance for Water Quality Monitoring Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Conserving water resources from scarcity and pollution is the basis of water resource management and water quality monitoring programs. However, due to industrialization and population growth in Malaysia, which have resulted in poor water quality in many

Bridging The Policy-Practice Gap: A Scoping Review Of Quality Indicators For Monitoring Credit-Modular System

open access: yesThe American Journal of Management and Economics Innovations
Credit-modular education and micro-credentials are reshaping higher education through flexibility, mobility and lifelong learning. Despite extensive international policy development, evidence shows persistent gaps between quality assurance policy prescriptions and institutional implementation.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

A proposal for a composite indicator based on ratios (CIBOR) to compare the evolution of Spanish financial institutions

open access: yesCentral Bank Review
This paper introduces a new Financial Stress Indicator (FSI) named Composite Indicator Based on Ratios (CIBOR). This paper discusses the importance of monitoring the quality of loans and capital, operational performance, profitability, and liquidity of ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Validation of the Fish Community Index of Estuarine Condition and development of a monitoring regime for the Swan-Canning Riverpark

open access: yes, 2012
Fish Community Indices were developed for the nearshore, shallow waters of the Swan-Canning estuary and also for its deeper, offshore waters. They integrate information on various biological variables (metrics), each of which quantifies an aspect of the ...

Development of an indicator framework for assessing nursing quality in interventional therapy for intracranial aneurysms in China

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology
ObjectiveThe objective of this study is to devise an indicator system to assess the quality of nursing care in the context of interventional therapy for intracranial aneurysms (IA) in China. This will furnish a standardized and quantitative framework for

Comparing modified biological monitoring working party score system and several biological indices based on macroinvertebrates for water-quality assessment

open access: yesLimnologica, 2005
AbstractMacroinvertebrate communities from the lower Nysa Kłodzka River catchment, southern Poland, were analyzed seasonally, in order to assess changes in their composition and structure, in relation to water quality. Two major groups of sites, differing in both morphological structure and taxonomical composition by cluster analysis, were identified ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.
