Quantitative and Descriptive Comparison of Four Acoustic Analysis Systems: Vowel Measurements

open access: yesJournal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, 2014
PurposeThis study examines accuracy and comparability of 4 trademarked acoustic analysis software packages (AASPs): Praat, WaveSurfer, TF32, and CSL by using synthesized and natural vowels. Features of AASPs are also described.MethodSynthesized and natural vowels were analyzed using each of the AASP's default settings to secure 9 acoustic measures ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

A descriptive analysis of quantitative indices for multi-objective block layout

open access: yesIngeniería e Investigación, 2013
Layout generation methods provide alternative solutions whose feasibility and quality must be evaluated. Indices must be used to distinguish the feasible solutions (involving different criteria) obtained for block layout to identify s solution’s ...

Taste Modulation of White Tea by Red/Blue-LED-Assisted Withering Revealed via Non-Volatile Metabolomics

open access: yesFoods
Background: Red/blue- light-emitting diode (LED)-assisted withering provides a controllable spectral input to steer tea quality, yet metabolite-level evidence linking spectrum composition to quantitative taste phenotypes in white tea remains insufficient.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Analysis of the Influence of Spices on the Yu-Shiang Sauce Flavors Based on E-nose and GC-IMS Technology

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji
To identify the effects of spices on the flavor formation of Yu-Shiang sauce, this study conducted a previously unexplored experiment examining the impacts of ginger, scallions, garlic, and pickled chili on flavor, quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA),

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.
