Intermittent fasting reshapes the gut microbiota in diabetic cardiomyopathy, restoring Akkermansia muciniphila and the microbiota‐associated metabolite 1‐methyl‐L‐histidine. This shift is linked to improved cardiac lipid homeostasis, reduced lipid peroxidation, and attenuated myocardial injury, highlighting a gut microbiota–metabolite–lipid axis in ...

Dual Blockade of LILRB1 and LILRB2 Enhances Antiviral Immune Responses in SIV Infection
Dual LILRB1/B2 blockade with mac20G10 reshapes myeloid activation during acute SIV infection by targeting LILRB1 and LILRB2 on myeloid cells. This treatment enhances CD80 expression on selected myeloid subsets and increases plasma IFN‐λ, IL‐8, and IL‐1RA.

This study introduces β‐glucan‐shielded apremilast laden nanomicelles that withstand gastrointestinal degradation, selectively accumulate in inflamed colon tissue, and modulate the microbiota–gut–brain axis. The formulation restores barrier integrity, reduces systemic and neuroinflammation, and improves anxiety‐ and depression‐like behaviors in colitis

ABSTRACT Bacterial wound infections, particularly those caused by Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, are difficult to treat due to biofilm formation, multidrug resistance, and chronic inflammation. Here, we report a multifunctional nanoplatform based on a surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe that enables simultaneous photodynamic ...

Considering variability in microbial behavior has been recognized as a crucial element for predictive microbiology and quantitative microbial risk assessment. Although some sources of variability have been listed so far, a mathematical description of the

Quality assurance in quantitative microbial risk assessment
Quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) is being used to estimate the risk level of pathogens along the food chain and to support management decisions for the reduction of food-safety risks. The degree of credibility that can be attached to risk assessment results depends largely on the quality and quantity of the data, the model structure and ...

Quantitative Methods for Natech Risk Assessment
Quantitative risk assessment is a powerful but complex and time-consuming task, which requires a significant amount of information and sophisticated models for the analysis of a very high number of scenarios even for rather simple plant layouts.

A thermo‐responsive rectal delivery platform integrating probiotic‐derived extracellular vesicles within a hyaluronic acid‐based copolymer enables localized and sustained therapy for ulcerative colitis. The formulation effectively suppresses inflammation, promotes macrophage polarization toward a regenerative phenotype, restores epithelial barrier ...

The membrane‐active peptide Pep19‐2.5 reduces harmful inflammation by blocking activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome at trans‐Golgi network membranes. By targeting key membrane interactions, Pep19‐2.5 suppresses inflammatory IL‐1β production and alleviates allergic airway inflammation in mice, leading to reduced immune cell infiltration and improved ...
