Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analyses and alcohol-related behaviors

Behavior Genetics, 1993
Recombinant inbred (RI) strains can make an important contribution toward the merger of molecular genetics and quantitative genetics in the quest for quantitative trait loci (QTL). We present preliminary analyses of alcohol-related processes from our ongoing research using the BXD RI series.

Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) and Mendelian Trait Loci (MTL) Analysis in Prunus: a Breeding Perspective and Beyond

Plant Molecular Biology Reporter, 2013
Trait loci analysis, a classic procedure in quantitative (quantitative trait loci, QTL) and qualitative (Mendelian trait loci, MTL) genetics, continues to be the most important ap- proach in studies of gene labeling in Prunus species from the Rosaceae family. Since 2011, the number of published Prunus QTLs and MTLs has doubled.

Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for pollen thermotolerance detected in maize

Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1994
Pollen thermotolerance is an important component of the adaptability of crops to high temperature stress. The tolerance level of the different genotypes in a population of 45 maize recombinant inbred lines was determined as the degree of injury caused by high temperature to pollen germinability (IPGG) and pollen tube growth (IPTG) in an in vitro assay.

QTL (QUANTITATIVE TRAIT LOCI) ANALYSIS IN GUAVA

Acta Horticulturae, 2010
QTL analyses have been performed in three guava mapping populations ('Enana' × 'N6'; MP1, 'Enana' × 'Suprema Roja'; MP2 and 'Enana' × 'Belic L-207'; MP3) based on the interval mapping method. Sixteen different traits related to leaf and fruit morphology, fruit characteristics, fruit quality, plant height and yield were recorded in the parents and ...

Quantitative trait loci: Mapping the future of QTL's

Heredity, 2005
A recent paper published in Nature represents a first in the attempt to map and sequence a true quantitative trait loci (QTL) – a gene with a small effect and complex expression. This study highlights both the promise and hazards of the road ahead as we seek to diagnose all the genes contributing to complex phenotypes.

Identification of Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) in Aquaculture Species

Reviews in Fisheries Science & Aquaculture, 2014
The production of capture fisheries is decreasing and genetic resources are reducing in aquaculture species due to overexploitation of natural resources. Marker-assisted selection (MAS) is one of the ways to rapidly increase genetic gain for enhancing fish production, by improving important traits.

Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) and Association Mapping for Major Agronomic Traits

2021
The enormous potential of DNA-based molecular markers has greatly assisted crop improvement programs of various crops, including non-model species like plantation crops. Despite the perennial nature, analysis of genomic loci governing quantitative traits of economic importance in coconut has gained impetus due to rapid strides in utilization of DNA ...
