Charge noise and spin noise in a semiconductor quantum device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Self-assembled quantum dots are very attractive as the building blocks for quantum light sources and spin qubits. For instance, a single quantum dot is a robust, fast, narrow-linewidth source of single photons, features not shared by any other ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Electric power communication network service importance evaluation method for quantum key application

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2019
With the expansion of the power grid and the increase of the complexity of the power system, the power grid has more stringent requirements for the security of the services transmission.

On the Power of Quantum Encryption Keys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The standard definition of quantum state randomization, which is the quantum analog of the classical one-time pad, consists in applying some transformation to the quantum message conditioned on a classical secret key $k$. We investigate encryption schemes in which this transformation is conditioned on a quantum encryption key state $ρ_k$ instead of a ...

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Numerical finite-key analysis of quantum key distribution

open access: yes, 2022
© 2020, The Author(s). Quantum key distribution (QKD) allows for secure communications safe against attacks by quantum computers. QKD protocols are performed by sending a sizeable, but finite, number of quantum signals between the distant parties ...

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...
