Critical Quantum Sensing: A Tutorial on Parameter Estimation Near Quantum Phase Transitions

open access: yesPRX Quantum
Quantum phenomena offer the possibility of measuring physical quantities with precision beyond classical limits. However, current progress is constrained by scalability, environmental noise, and challenges in practical integration.

Probing cosmic string spacetime through parameter estimation

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
Quantum metrology studies the ultimate precision limit of physical quantities by using quantum strategy. In this paper we apply the quantum metrology technologies to the relativistic framework for estimating the deficit angle parameter of cosmic string ...

Quantum Error Correction for Metrology [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2014
We propose and analyze a new approach based on quantum error correction (QEC) to improve quantum metrology in the presence of noise. We identify the conditions under which QEC allows one to improve the signal-to-noise ratio in quantum-limited measurements, and we demonstrate that it enables, in certain situations, Heisenberg-limited sensitivity.

Few‐Photon Fluorescence From Ultracold Bosons in an Optical Cavity

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Within a cavity quantum electrodynamics framework, we analyse the fluorescent spectrum of ultracold bosons in resonant and second‐harmonic generation (SHG) regimes. Two settings are considered: (i) (few) bosons in an optical lattice and (ii) a trapped two‐component dilute Bose–Einstein condensate (2BEC) within the Bogoliubov scheme.

Thin‐film lithium niobate photonics: Frontiers in millimeter‐wave and terahertz generation and integrated applications

open access: yesInfoScience, EarlyView.
With the advancement of 6G communications, high‐precision radar, and advanced imaging technologies, there is a growing demand for compact, high‐performance light sources capable of generating high‐frequency radio waves (millimeter‐wave and terahertz waves). This article systematically introduces how to efficiently generate these high‐frequency waves on

Frontiers of Bright CEP‐Stable Broadband Infrared Sources

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Bright CEP‐stable broadband infrared sources push the limits of ultrafast science by delivering exceptional brightness alongside few‐cycle durations and multi‐octave spectral coverage. This review highlights emerging architectures and nonlinear conversion strategies that scale power while preserving phase stability.

Diffraction‐Free Natural Optical Skyrmions and Their Subwavelength Confinement Around Vortices

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diffraction causes waves to spread out as they propagate freely. The tighter the lateral confinement, the faster the spreading. Past research on how to suppress diffraction has been based on wave engineering and has led so far to idealized waves that, in real settings, eventually diffract.

Parallel Multi‐Target Detection for Quantum LiDAR

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Parallel multi‐target detection is achieved in quantum LiDAR with a single‐pixel quantum readout. Direction and distance information are extracted together, allowing multiple objects to be distinguished under noisy low‐light conditions and pointing to a new strategy for scan‐free quantum remote sensing.
