Nucleon g[sub 2] Structure Function and Quark-Gluon Correlations [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2009
We discuss two recently carried out experiments at Jefferson Lab that measured with precision the spin structure function of the nucleon g2, aiming at the determination of the twist‐3 matrix element known as d2 for both the proton and the neutron. This matrix element is related to the average Lorentz color force that a quark experiences just at the ...

Structure functions and pair correlations of the quark-gluon plasma [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2005
Recent experiments at RHIC and theoretical considerations indicate that the quark-gluon plasma, present in the fireball of relativistic heavy-ion collisions, might be in a liquid phase. The liquid state can be identified by characteristic correlation and structure functions. Here definitions of the structure functions and pair correlations of the quark-

Resolving the Scales of the Quark-Gluon Plasma with Energy Correlators

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2023
Jets provide us with ideal probes of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) produced in heavy-ion collisions, since its dynamics at its different scales is imprinted into the multi-scale substructure of the final state jets. We present a new approach to jet substructure in heavy-ion collisions based on the study of correlation functions of energy flow operators.

Quark-Gluon correlations and vacuum fluctuations

open access: yesPhysics Letters, Section B: Nuclear, Elementary Particle and High-Energy Physics, 1981
Abstract We study the effect of non-perturbative vacuum fluctuations on the angular correlation of a quark and gluon produced in e+e− annihilation at high energies. Long-wavelength background fields induce and exponential falloff in the invariant mass q2 of the quark-gluon system for moderate q2.

Long-Range Azimuthal Correlation, Entanglement, and Bell Inequality Violation by Spinning Gluons at the Large Hadron Collider [PDF]

open access: yesResearch
We apply the recently developed concept of the nucleon energy–energy correlator (NEEC) for the gluon sector to investigate the long-range azimuthal angular correlations in proton–proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. The spinning gluon in these

Sources of multiparticle correlations – a microscopic perspective [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Multiparticle correlations is a hallmark measurement characterizing the behaviour of the assumed Quark Gluon Plasma in heavy ion collisions. In these proceedings an alternative, microscopic approach is presented, based on interacting strings and ...

Quantum correlation in quark–gluon medium

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Physical Society, 2022
We study thermodynamics and quantum correlations of the string cloud geometry whose field theory dual is the quark-gluon medium. We found the novel universality of the entanglement entropy first law in the high quark density limit. We also showed that a correlation function generally decreases as the entanglement entropy of the background medium ...

Probing quark-gluon correlation functions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2000
We review applicability of QCD factorization theorem to multiple scattering in deeply inelastic lepton-nucleus scattering. We show why A^{1/3}-type nuclear enhancement can be calculated consistently in perturbative QCD. We derive the transverse momentum broadening of the leading pions in deeply inelastic lepton-nucleus collisions.

Tree-level soft emission of a quark pair in association with a gluon

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We compute the tree-level current for the emission of a soft quark-antiquark pair in association with a gluon. This soft current is the last missing ingredient to understand the infrared singularities that can arise in next-to-next-to-next-to-leading ...
