Viscosity measurements in pulsed magnetic fields by using a quartz-crystal microbalance

open access: yes, 2019
Viscosity measurements in combination with pulsed magnetic fields are developed by use of a quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM). When the QCM is immersed in liquid, the resonant frequency, $f_0$, and the quality factor, $Q$, of the QCM change depending on $

Monitoring Molecular Assembly of Biofilms Using Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation (QCM-D)

open access: yes, 2022
The structure and the functionality of biofilm proteins, the main components of the extracellular matrix, can be tuned by protein engineering. The use of binding kinetics data has been demonstrated in the characterization of recombinantly produced biofilm proteins to control their behavior on certain surfaces or under certain conditions. Quartz crystal

Energy‐Resolved Femtosecond Dynamics of Plasmon‐Induced Hole Injection at Au/GaN Heterointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We reveal the spectral signature of ultrafast nonthermal hot‐hole transfer at plasmonic heterointerfaces, which reshapes hot‐carrier relaxation dynamics and significantly enhances hydrogen evolution, providing a mechanistic basis for optimizing hot‐carrier utilization in photocatalysis.

A Biomimetic Lubricant Captures Hyaluronic Acid In Situ to Regenerate Cartilage: From Bench to Bedside

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...

Pocketable Biosensor Based on Quartz-Crystal Microbalance and Its Application to DNA Detection

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Quartz-crystal microbalance (QCM) is a technique that can measure nanogram-order masses. When a receptor is immobilized on the sensor surface of a QCM device, the device can detect chemical molecules captured by the mass change. Although QCM devices have
