Design of Cell Construction for Immunosensor Based Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM)

open access: yesNatural B, 2012
The biosensor is a sensor device that combines biological compounds with a transducer. One type of biosensor that uses mass change detection techniques are QCM (Quartz Crystal Microbalance). QCM is a sensor that works with the principle of quartz crystal frequency shift due to mass deposition on the surface of the crystal. QCM can be used to detect the

Dry Vacuum Processing of Perovskite Films: Insights Into Growth and Precision Control Enabling Batch‐Stable High‐Efficiency Solar Cells

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
This work establishes a standardized, additive‐free dry vacuum sublimation process for perovskite solar cells. By uncovering atomic‐scale growth mechanisms, we demonstrate that sequential deposition provides superior film quality compared to co‐deposition.

Microplastics and nanoplastics in water: Improving removal in wastewater treatment plants with alternative coagulants

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
The contaminant removal performance of a conventional coagulant, alum, and alternative coagulants, aluminium chlorohydrate (ACH) and ACH + pDADMC, are compared in challenging wastewater treatment conditions (pH >7.8). The interactions of each coagulant with a negatively charged surface are depicted based on quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation ...

Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) monitor of contamination for LES-8/9 [PDF]

open access: yes
A Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) was used to monitor condensable contamination during the launching of two Lincoln Laboratory Experimental Satellites--LES-8 and LES-9. The QCM was installed on the dispenser truss and measured contamination by means of

Surface roughness and interfacial slip boundary condition for quartz crystal microbalances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The response of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is considered using a wave equation for the substrate and the Navier-Stokes equations for a finite liquid layer under a slip boundary condition.

Self-assembly of phthalocyanines on quartz crystal microbalances for QCM liquid sensing applications

open access: yesSensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2014
Abstract After their widespread use in gas sensors, phthalocyanines are applied as sorption matrices for quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors in liquid phase, as well. In order to enhance sensor performance, the application of ultrathin Pc films is envisaged.

Antiferromagnetic Chains in a Monolayer of Molecular Qubits Assembled on Graphene

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This work explores the deposition onto graphene of a dithiazole‐based molecular qubit, [Cu(dttt)2], (dttt− = 1,3,2‐dithiazole‐4‐thione‐5‐thiolate), under ultra‐high vacuum conditions. Analytical techniques, including STM, XPS, and X‐ray absorption, reveal the molecular arrangement and magnetic interactions, emphasizing the role of vdW interactions in ...
