Geology, geochemistry and fluid inclusion of Qarachilar Cu-Mo-Au quartz veins, northeast of Kharvana, East Azerbaijan

open access: yesJournal of Economic Geology, 2018
Introduction The Qarachilar Cu-Mo-Au occurrence is located in the Arasbaran ore zone (AZ), NW Iran, some 70 km north of Tabriz. The AZ is characterized by occurrence of different types of mineralization and hosts many Cu-Mo porphyry (PCD), Cu skarn, and

Geochemistry of cassiterite and wolframite from tin and tungsten quartz veins in Portugal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Cassiterite and wolframite compositions from Sn > W- and W > Sn-bearing quartz veins in Northern and Central Portugal are compared to provide evidence on fluid compositions.

New Schmidt hammer exposure‐age dating calibrations for the Last Glacial Termination in NW Scotland: Development and application to undated Torridon Group sandstone surfaces in Wester Ross

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT An understanding of the terrestrial extent, retreat dynamics and climate–glacier coupling of ice masses during the Last Glacial Termination (LGT, ~18–11 ka) is often limited by a fragmentary geomorphological record and is dependent on precise, accurate and robust dating frameworks.

Some varieties of quartz at the epithermal silver occurrences of Tas-Kystabyt magmatic belt (Yakutia): textures, IR-spectra, X-ray luminescence

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Геология и разведка, 2015
Varieties of quartz at silver occurrence Aid and silver veins of gold-rare metals deposit Ergelyah are studied. New data on the textures of comb quartz and earlier not documented the late coarse-grained quartz is presented; the IR- and X-ray luminescence

Release, Migration, Sorption, and (Re)Precipitation of U during Peraluminous Granite Alteration under Oxidizing Conditions in Central Portugal

open access: yesGeosciences, 2018
In this work, in order to study the release, migration, sorption, and (re)precipitation of uranium (U) during alteration under oxidizing conditions, we carried out a systematic study using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray maps, and electron microprobe

ST Quartz Acoustic Wave Sensors with Sectional Guiding Layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We report the effect of removing a section of guiding layer from the propagation paths of ST-quartz Love wave sensors; this offers the ease of fabrication of a polymer guiding layer whilst retaining the native surface of the quartz which may then be used

Repeated Pleistocene Permafrost Episodes in the Western Pannonian Basin

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Concerning the study of past periglacial processes, the Pannonian Basin is a key area as it contains the southernmost frost polygons found in Central Europe. The presence or absence of permafrost is still, however, a matter of debate, and data on the timing of frost action are also scarce.

Protein Corona Engineering of Lipid Nanoparticles Enables Efficient Functional Gene Silencing in the Liver

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
By shaping the protein corona, lipid composition directs LNP tropism and enables the preferential delivery of a TIMP1‐targeting siRNA to liver macrophages. In a murine model of primary biliary cholangitis, this strategy promoted macrophage reprogramming and attenuated liver fibrosis.
