Arithmetic and geometric mean rates of return in discrete time [PDF]

open access: yes
This memorandum presents some basic equalities and inequalities about rates of return in discrete time, without auto-correlation. The arithmetic and geometric means are discussed.

An Analytical Design Model of a Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption Process for Biogas Upgrading

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A steady‐state model was developed for a vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process comprising adsorption, depressurization, and evacuation steps. The resulting analytical plant design model provides the optimal adsorber height required to achieve a target product purity with maximum bed utilization.

The invariance of the arithmetic mean with respect to generalized quasi-arithmetic means [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The aim of this paper is to find those pairs of generalized quasi-arithmetic means on an open real interval I for which the arithmetic mean is invariant, i.e., to characterize those continuous strictly monotone functions φ,ψ:I→R and Borel probability ...

A Meta‐Analytic Review of Board Characteristics and Carbon Emission Disclosure: The Moderating Effect of Contextual Factors

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The relationship between board governance and corporate carbon emission disclosure remains persistently inconsistent across the empirical literature, despite decades of accumulated evidence. Drawing on agency, stakeholder, legitimacy, institutional, and upper echelons perspectives within a single analytical framework, we conduct a three‐level ...

Modulating Growth Kinetics and Defect Passivation in Ambient‐Air Evaporation‐Spray Deposition Enables Efficient and Stable Rigid/Flexible Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
ATC‐enabled synergistic crystalline regulation and defect passivation via evaporation‐spray deposition realizes 22.68% rigid and 20.13% flexible PSCs with remarkable stability and excellent universality for both rigid and flexible substrates. ABSTRACT Evaporation‐spray technique renders perovskites highly compatible with large‐scale manufacturing ...

How to reduce sampling error in species population monitoring: from theory to methods

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Progress towards national and international targets to halt and reverse declines in species' abundances will be assessed using multispecies indicators (MSIs). A distinction must be drawn between two MSIs. One is the ideal, but unobserved, MSI that would have been measured had all species and sites within the scope of the target been sampled.

Quasi-Kahler Chern-flat manifolds and complex 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The study of quasi-Kaehler Chern-flat almost Hermitian manifolds is strictly related to the study of anti-bi-invariant almost complex Lie algebras.

Laser‐Textured Field‐Engineered Interface for Robust Dry‐Processed Cathodes in Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Laser‐patterned dry electrodes applied to current collectors could serve as a promising alternative to the limitations of conventional dry electrodes. Laser technology provides a fast and simple method to enhance the surface roughness of current collectors, improving the adhesion at the electrode–current collector interface.

Asymptotic behaviour of the quasi-arithmetic means

open access: yesRad Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti. Matematičke znanosti
In this paper we study the asymptotic behaviour of the quasi-arithmetic means Mφ, for large values of its arguments. We extend and simplify known results form the literature. Asymptotic expansions of these means are derived under very weak assumptions on a given function φ. The coefficients in the asymptotic expansions are defined by recursive formulas,
