On the Composition of Homogeneous Quasi-Arithmetic Means

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1997
It is well known [e.g., \textit{G. H. Hardy, J. E. Littlewood}, and \textit{G. Pólya}, ``Inequalities'' (1934; Zbl 0010.10703, 2nd ed. 1952; Zbl 0047.05302, reprint of the 2nd ed. 1988; Zbl 0634.26008), Theorem 84] that the power means \(M_{p}\) (including the geometric mean for \(p=0\)) are the only positively homogeneous quasiarithmetic means.

On weighted quasi-arithmetic means which are convex [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Inequalities & Applications, 2019
Summary: We study convexity in the class of weighted quasi-arithmetic means. It turns out that their convexity depends only on the generator, neither on weights, nor on the number of variables. Connections between the convexity of a mean and the convexity of its increasing generators are considered.

Effect of Nursing Dysphagia Screening Tool Education on Increasing Knowledge of Documentation for Screening Results in Hospital Nurses

open access: yesGlobal Medical & Health Communication, 2021
Efforts to prevent complications of dysphagia can be detected using a quick and correct screening method. Dysphagia screening tool (DST) can identify dysphagia stroke patients with eight indicators.

The Generalized Hybrid Averaging Operator and its Application in Decision Making // La media generalizada híbrida y su aplicación en la toma de decisiones [PDF]

open access: yesRevista de Métodos Cuantitativos para la Economía y la Empresa, 2010
We present the generalized hybrid averaging (GHA) operator. It is a new aggregation operator that generalizes the hybrid averaging (HA) operator by using the generalized mean. Thus, we are able to generalize a wide range of mean operators such as the HA,

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Properties of distance spaces with power triangle inequalities

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2016
Metric spaces provide a framework for analysis and have several very useful properties. Many of these properties follow in part from the  triangle inequality.

Interval-type theorems concerning means [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Each family $\mathcal{M}$ of means has a natural, partial order (point-wise order), that is $M \le N$ iff $M(x) \le N(x)$ for all admissible $x$. In this setting we can introduce the notion of interval-type set (a subset $\mathcal{I} \subset \mathcal{M}

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Complete intersections: Moduli, Torelli, and good reduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study the arithmetic of complete intersections in projective space over number fields. Our main results include arithmetic Torelli theorems and versions of the Shafarevich conjecture, as proved for curves and abelian varieties by Faltings. For example,
