Machine learning‐driven advances in carbon‐based quantum dots: Opportunities accompanied by challenges

Filling a Gap in Materials Mechanics: Nanoindentation at High Constant Strain Rates up to 105 s−1

A piezoelectric nanoindentation platform enables constant strain‐rate testing up to 105 s−1, extending experimental capabilities to extreme deformation regimes. Distinct hardness upturns are revealed across crystalline and amorphous materials, verified as intrinsic responses through quasi‐static reloading.

SERS‐Based Nano‐ and Microsystems Toward Biomedical Applications

This review provides a current overview of nano‐ and microscale SERS‐based devices, encompassing all aspects from material design to practical applications. A Novel Approach to Energy Management in Electric Steelworks

Feed‐forward neural networks are exploited to estimate electric energy consumptions of the electric arc furnace and ladle furnace processes. The models are used to optimize production schedule so that more energy intensive grades are produced when the cost of energy is lower.

Agglomeration Behavior of Nonmetallic Particles on the Surface of Si‐Killed Liquid Steel Using HT‐CSLM: An In Situ Investigation

The in situ agglomeration behavior of semisolid Al–silicate inclusions in Si‐killed steel is studied using high‐temperature confocal scanning laser microscopy. Particle motion and interparticle forces at the steel/argon interface are quantified and compared with a modified capillary interaction model.

Modifications for Quasi-Newton Method and Its Spectral Algorithm for Solving Unconstrained Optimization Problems

In this paper, two modifications for spectral quasi-Newton algorithm of type BFGS are imposed. In the first algorithm, named SQNEI, a certain spectral parameter is used in such a step for BFGS algorithm differs from other presented algorithms.
