PREDICTOR-CORRECTOR QUASI-STATIC METHOD FOR TIGHTLY-COUPLED REACTOR MULTIPHYSICS TRANSIENT CALCULATIONS [PDF]
Several methods have recently been developed to solve multiphysics transients using the Improved Quasi-Static method and its derivatives. In order to address some perceived drawbacks of these methods, we have developed a new method for solving ...

An Improved Method for Calculating the Quasi-Static EMP [PDF]
A new time-independent numerical method is used to determine the late-time electromagnetic pulse (EMP) resulting from a surface nuclear burst. Completely arbitrary source terms are employed and the non-linear dependence of the air chemistry and air conductivity parameters on the electric field strength is incorporated into the solutions.

Solving quasi‐static equations with the material‐point method
SummaryThe material‐point method models continua by following a set of unconnected material points throughout the deformation of a body. This set of points provides a Lagrangian description of the material and geometry. Information from the material points is projected onto a background grid where equations of motion are solved.

Calibration of quasi-static aberrations in exoplanet direct-imaging instruments with a Zernike phase-mask sensor [PDF]
Context. Several exoplanet direct imaging instruments will soon be in operation. They use an extreme adaptive optics (XAO) system to correct the atmospheric turbulence and provide a highly-corrected beam to a near-infrared (NIR) coronagraph for starlight

Quasi-static analysis: A method for predicting grasp stability [PDF]
This paper introduces a general method for predicting the stability of grasps obtained by articulated mechanical hands. Two contact models are considered: point contact with friction, and a distributed form called the "soft finger contact". The method is applicable to a large class of statically indeterminate, as well as determinate, cases.

Well-posedness of the fully coupled quasi-static thermo-poro-elastic equations with nonlinear convective transport [PDF]
This paper is concerned with the analysis of the quasi-static thermo-poroelastic model. This model is nonlinear and includes thermal effects compared to the classical quasi-static poroelastic model (also known as Biot's model).

Quasistaticity of the process of dynamic strain of soils
Mechanical characteristics of soil under static and dynamic strains are determined experimentally. Their accuracy and reliability depends on quasi-static nature of strain process in soil.
