Applied and Computational Harmonic Analysis, 2003 The authors study the smoothness of quasi-uniform bivariate subdivision and derive a sufficient condition for \(C^m\) continuity of the limit function. They also relate the Hölder exponent of \(m\)th order derivatives to the joint spectral radius. A so called ``tri-quad'' scheme is presented and is shown to be \(C^2\).
