One‐Step Microfluidic Manufactured Fucose‐Decorated Sweetosomes Choose the Time and the Road for Their Intracellular Journey to Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Sweetosomes, a new class of fucose‐decorated liposomes, are developed via a one‐step microfluidic process without surface chemistry. This study elucidates their main caveolae‐mediated entry and distinct endosomal trafficking. These nanostructures demonstrate superior endosomal escape, organelle acidity modulation, and prolonged plasma persistence ...

The Phosphorylation of Anti-Adrenergic Quaternary Ammonium Salts Related to Choline

open access: yes, 1962
Quaternary ammonium salts related to choline with anti-adrenergic properties have been phosphorylated. The resulting betaines were used to investigate a possible means for improving the oral absorption of quaternary ammonium salts.

Thermodynamic modeling of gas solubility in aqueous solutions of quaternary ammonium salts with the e-CPA equation of state

open access: yes, 2020
The study of gas solubility in aqueous electrolyte solutions is important, e.g. for hydrate applications, and it is also a challenging task, as metal halide salts show salting-out effects on gas in water, while some quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) show ...

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

The influence of quaternary ammonium salts on mechanical properties of light-cured resin dental composites

open access: yesPolimery, 2023
The composite consisting of bis-GMA/UDMA/HEMA/TEGDMA monomer mixture forming apolymer matrix filled with silanized silica (45 wt%) was modified with CTAB or DODAB quaternary ammonium salts (0.5‒2.0 wt%).

Chemotherapeutic Properties of Some New Quaternary Ammonium Salts: Part I. Chemistry

open access: yes, 1959
The preparation of a large number of new heterocyclic quaternary ammonium salts for biological screening is described. Certain of the quaternary salts possess amoebicidal, antibacterial, antifilarial and trypanocidal activity.

Quaternary ammonium salt as initiator for vinyl polymerization

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, 1958
AbstractBinary mixtures of amines and alkyl (or aralkyl) chlorides were used as the initiators for the polymerizations of several acrylic monomers and styrene. A parallelism was found between the catalytic actions of the mixtures and their quaternary salt formations.

Eutectozymes as Soft Hybrid Materials for Advanced Biocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Eutectozymes are sustainable hybrid materials that embed a GOx–HRP cascade within hydrophobic eutectogels featuring a dual supramolecular–covalent network. This architecture preserves native enzyme structure and stability, enables efficient heterogeneous biocatalysis in aqueous media, and positions eutectogels as robust platforms for next‐generation ...
