On the Signature of Black Holes on the Quenched Stellar Mass Function
As star-forming galaxies approach or exceed a stellar mass of around 10 ^11 M _⊙ , they are increasingly likely to be quenched in a process generically called mass quenching.

The Origin of [OII] Emission in Recently Quenched AGN Hosts
We have employed emission-line diagnostics derived from DEIMOS and NIRSPEC spectroscopy to determine the origin of the [OII] emission line observed in six AGN hosts at z~0.9. These galaxies are a subsample of AGN hosts detected in the Cl1604 supercluster

GOES‐R Series X‐Ray Sensor (XRS): 2. On‐Orbit Measurements and Calibrations
Abstract An X‐Ray Sensor (XRS) has been onboard each of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) since 1975. XRS measures full‐disk soft X‐ray irradiance in two wavelength bands, 0.05–0.4 nm and 0.1–0.8 nm.

Quenching time-scales of galaxies in the eagle simulations
We use the \eagle\ simulations to study the connection between the quenching timescale, $ _{\rm Q}$, and the physical mechanisms that transform star-forming galaxies into passive galaxies. By quantifying $ _{\rm Q}$ in two complementary ways - as the time over which (i) galaxies traverse the green valley on the colour-mass diagram, or (ii) leave the ...

ABSTRACT Background Numeracy difficulties are common in individuals with post‐stroke aphasia, yet assessments and therapies addressing these are limited. This study investigated the feasibility and effectiveness of SWAN, a game‐based digital intervention targeting foundational number language skills: counting and transcoding.

Environmentally relevant enrofloxacin accelerates intestinal aging by impairing epithelial mitochondrial function, disrupting barrier integrity, and reshaping the gut microbiota. Mitochondrial restoration with pyrroloquinoline quinone alleviates hypoxia, inflammation, and gut damage.

Recent observations at low redshift have revealed that some post-starburst galaxies retain significant molecular gas reservoirs despite low ongoing star formation rates, challenging most theoretical predictions that rely on heating or expelling gas ...

The vast majority of dwarf satellites orbiting the Milky Way and M31 are quenched, while comparable galaxies in the field are gas-rich and star-forming.

Massive Quiescent Disk Galaxies at 0.5 ≤ z ≤ 1 in CANDELS: Color Gradients and Likely Origin
A rare population of massive disk-dominated quiescent galaxies has recently drawn much attention, which intrudes the red sequence (RS) population without destroying the underlying stellar disks.
