Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Quantum Quench Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesAnnual Review of Condensed Matter Physics, 2018
Quench dynamics is an active area of study encompassing condensed matter physics and quantum information, with applications to cold-atomic gases and pump-probe spectroscopy of materials. Recent theoretical progress in studying quantum quenches is reviewed.

Jet quenching

open access: yes, 2005
High-pt particles produced in nucleus-nucleus collisions constitute a powerful tool to study the medium properties. The energy loss resulting from the propagation of these particles in the produced medium translates into a suppression of the high-pt ...

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

The Dark Side: Photosensitizer Prodrugs

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2019
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photodiagnosis (PD) are essential approaches in the field of biophotonics. Ideally, both modalities require the selective sensitization of the targeted disease in order to avoid undesired phenomena such as the destruction ...

Anti‐CD19 CAR T Cells in Autoimmune Encephalitis: Inflammation Controlled, Neurodegeneration Unchecked?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Just recently, successful chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was reported in the first patient with refractory, anti‐diacylglycerol lipase alpha (DAGLA) antibody‐mediated autoimmune encephalitis, achieving partial clinical remission.

Numerical quenching for a semilinear parabolic equation

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2008
This paper concerns the study of the numerical approximation for the nonlinear parabolic boundary value problem with the source term leading to the quenching in finite time.

Quenched degrees of freedom in symmetric diblock copolymer thin films

open access: yes, 1997
We study the effect of monomer immobilization (quenching) on the orientation of the lamellae in symmetric diblock copolymer thin films with neutrally wetting surfaces.
