Direct observations of nucleation in a nondilute multicomponent alloy
The chemical pathways leading to gamma-prime(L1_2)-nucleation from nondilute Ni-5.2 Al-14.2 Cr at.%, gamma(f.c.c.), at 873 K are followed with radial distribution functions and isoconcentration surface analyses of direct-space atom-probe tomographic ...

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Demixing, remixing and cellular networks in binary liquids containing colloidal particles [PDF]
We present a confocal-microscopy study of demixing and remixing in binary liquids containing colloidal particles. First, particle-stabilized emulsions have been fabricated by nucleation and growth of droplets upon cooling from the single-fluid phase.

Defect-unbinding transitions and inherent structures in two dimensions
We present a large-scale (36000-particle) computational study of the "inherent structures" (IS) associated with equilibrium, two-dimensional, one-component Lennard-Jones systems.
