Parametric query optimization [PDF]

open access: yesThe VLDB Journal The International Journal on Very Large Data Bases, 1997
In most database systems, the values of many important run-time parameters of the system, the data, or the query are unknown at query optimization time. Parametric query optimization attempts to identify at compile time several execution plans, each one of which is optimal for a subset of all possible values of the run-time parameters. The goal is that

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Query Optimization in Distributed Database Based on Improved Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Query optimization is one of the key factors affecting the performance of database systems that aim to enact the query execution plan with minimum cost. Particularly in distributed database systems, due to the multiple copies of the data that are stored ...

Optimizing navigational graph queries

open access: yesThe VLDB Journal
Abstract We study the optimization of navigational graph queries in the form of the Regular Queries, i.e., queries which combine recursive and pattern-matching fragments. Current approaches to their evaluation are not effective in practice.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

SMOQE: A System for Providing Secure Access to XML [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
XML views have been widely used to enforce access control, support data integration, and speed up query answering. In many applications, e.g., XML security enforcement, it is prohibitively expensive to materialize and maintain a large number of views ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Distributed Query Optimization by Query Trading

open access: yes, 2004
Large-scale distributed environments, where each node is completely autonomous and offers services to its peers through external communication, pose significant challenges to query processing and optimization. Autonomy is the main source of the problem, as it results in lack of knowledge about any particular node with respect to the information it can ...

New algorithms for query modifications

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2009
New algorithms for query modifications are proposed. These algorithms involve the lexical optimization based on the mathematical transformations that have never been used for the query optimization before.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
