Spontaneous Remission of Late Relapsing Membranous Nephropathy After Previous Immunosuppressant-Induced Remission: Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesCase Rep Nephrol
This is the first detailed report of spontaneous remission of late relapsing membranous nephropathy (MN) after previous immunosuppressant‐induced remission. In March 2004, a 52‐year‐old Hispanic male presented with severe nephrotic syndrome with proteinuria of 13 g/24 h. The workup for infectious and autoimmune diseases was unrevealing.

Molecular basis of domain-specific angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibition by the antihypertensive drugs enalaprilat, ramiprilat, trandolaprilat, quinaprilat and perindoprilat. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS J
Inhibition of angiotensin I‐converting enzyme is an effective strategy for the treatment of hypertension. However, the clinically available ACE inhibitors cause side effects due to nonselective inhibition of the two catalytic domains of ACE (nACE and cACE).

Angiotensinogen II Receptor Blockers May Decrease Risk of Adhesive Capsulitis After Rotator Cuff Repair. [PDF]

open access: yesArthrosc Sports Med Rehabil
Purpose To determine the effect of commonly prescribed antifibrotic medications on the odds of developing adhesive capsulitis (AC) following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Methods The Mariner data set of the PearlDiver database from 2010 to 2022 was used to identify patients aged 40 to 65 years who underwent rotator cuff repair (identified by ...

Utilization and Dose Optimization of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitors in Heart Failure Patients With Reduced Ejection Fraction: A Cross Sectional Study on Implications for Guideline-Targeted Therapy. [PDF]

open access: yesHealth Sci Rep
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) are well established in reducing morbidity and mortality among patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Evidence has consistently supported the use of high‐dose ACEI therapy, which is recommended to optimize clinical outcomes and enhance patients' quality of life ...

Linking FHIR-Based Medication Data to a Computable Algorithm for Heart Medication Optimization: A Critical Component of Any Medication Learning Health System. [PDF]

open access: yesLearn Health Syst
ABSTRACT Introduction Despite strong evidence supporting guideline‐directed medical therapy (GDMT) for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), a significant gap persists in the consistent application of these therapies. This shortfall has prompted organizations like the American College of Cardiology to recommend leveraging electronic ...

Risk of Acute Kidney Injury Associated With Nephrotoxic Burden in Hospitalized Patients: A Scoping Review. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Pharmacol Ther
Limited evidence exists synthesizing the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) associated with the concomitant administration of multiple nephrotoxic drugs, and even less examining the concept of nephrotoxic burden. The objective of this scoping review was to (1) identify definitions of nephrotoxic burden; (2) methods used to quantify (use of calculations)

Impact of Prior Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor and Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker Use on Delirium Incidence in ICU Patients: A Retrospective Study. [PDF]

open access: yesHealth Sci Rep
ABSTRACT Background and Aims This investigation aimed at exploring the impact that the pre‐existing use of angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) has on the incidence of delirium in patients within the intensive care unit (ICU).

Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor-induced angioedema may not be a class-related event [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Emergency Medicine, Trauma and Acute Care, 2012
Angioedema is a rare but potentially life threatening condition commonly associated with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs). The incidence is approximately 0.1- 0.2% and may occur within the first week to several years of taking an ACEI. We

Study on the Characteristics of Metabolites in Monascus Cheese Based on Metabolomics

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2023
In order to study the characteristics of metabolites in Monascus cheese, Monascus cheese BC20 and Monascus cheese ZX-99 were used as experimental groups, and commercially available blue mold cheese and white mold cheese were used as control groups.
