Printing to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance Through Nano/Microstructured Platforms
Additive manufacturing enables the rational design of structured antimicrobial platforms across multiple length scales, from nanofibrous scaffolds and droplet microreactors to 3D and 4D printed constructs. By engineering confinement, interfacial chemistry, and stimuli‐responsive release, these systems exert localized action through complementary ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

ABSTRACT Background/Objective 3D printed materials have been evaluated for fabricating mouthguards; however, little is known about their biomechanical performance in preventing dental trauma. This study aimed to compare two 3D printed polymers and three ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) sheets used for mouthguard fabrication regarding their mechanical ...

Quorum Sensing and Phytochemicals
Most infectious diseases are caused by bacteria, which proliferate within quorum sensing (QS)-mediated biofilms. Efforts to block QS in bacteria and disrupt biofilms have enabled the identification of bioactive molecules that are also produced by plants.

DNA aptamers, Apt 60 and Apt 173, target the BamA protein to compromise outer membrane integrity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, making it susceptible to Azithromycin, an antibiotic that is otherwise poorly effective due to the low‐permeability membrane.

The Agencies of the European Union: A Glimmer of Hope for Enlargement?
Abstract In recent years, the process of EU enlargement has become increasingly difficult. The longer the process drags on and the less likely accession appears, the more the candidate states are discouraged and the less influential the EU becomes. A different approach to integration must therefore be used.
