Intersection-Soft Filters in R0-Algebras

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2013
The notions of (strong) intersection-soft filters in R0-algebras are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Characterizations of a (strong) intersection-soft filter are established, and a new intersection-soft filter from old one is ...

Mapping the impacts of climate change on vector-borne diseases : application to Orbiviruses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Climate impacts vector-borne disease transmission through a complex interplay of influences on all the actors involved: the vector, the host and the pathogen.

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Hybrid Liquid Metal Cathode Enables High‐Performance Intrinsically Stretchable OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a hybrid liquid metal (Hyb‐LM) cathode engineered via selective rupture of liquid metal particles (LMPs), forming a bilayer architecture with a surface liquid metal (LM) layer and underlying LMP layer, which has benefits of both LM and LMPs.

Study of the reactions e plus e- ? K+K-,r0,r0,r0, e+ e-?K0SK?,r?,r0,r0, and e plus e-? K0SK?,r?,r+,r- at center-of-mass energies from threshold to 4.5 GeV using initial-state radiation

open access: yes, 2023
We study the processes e+e- -> K+K-a degrees a degrees a degrees y, K degrees SK +/- a -/+ a degrees a degrees y, and K degrees SK +/- a -/+ a+a-y in which an energetic photon is radiated from the initial state. The data were collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.

Ubiquitous Antiparallel Domains in 2D Hexagonal Boron Nitride Uncovered by Interferometric Nonlinear Optical Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Interferometric second‐harmonic generation (SHG) imaging reveals the ubiquitous formation of antiparallel domains in CVD‐grown 2D hexagonal boron nitride. By resolving lattice orientation and SHG phase, hidden domain structures and disorder become visible over large areas. The SHG intensity quantitatively tracks crystalline quality across growth routes,

Solvent‐Mediated Reactivity Control of Lewis‐Paired Dopants as a Versatile Strategy for Tunable and Stable Doping of Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent‐mediated reactivity control of Lewis‐paired dopants enables highly efficient, finely tunable, and stable doping of organic semiconductors. The optimally doped semiconductor films exhibit superior thermoelectric performance and doping stability, feature delocalized polarons along structurally ordered polymer backbones, and outperform ...

Transmission thresholds for the spread of infections in healthcare facilities.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology
Some infections may be sustained in the human population by persistent transmission among patients in healthcare facilities, including patients colonized with multi-drug-resistant organisms posing a major health threat.
