Record‐Wise Disaggregated Seismic Fragilities for Interconnected Systems

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 743-758, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Seismic risk assessment studies typically rely on fragility functions/curves to characterize the susceptibility of an asset or a class of assets to damage. These curves are essentially a summarization of responses evaluated on the basis of ground motions with record characteristics and intensities that may or may not be tied to a specific site

Integrative Genomics Reveals Causal Pleiotropy and Therapeutic Opportunities at the Interface of Acute Pancreatitis and Infection

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, Volume 33, Issue 3, Page 194-207, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Understanding the genetic links between acute pancreatitis (AP) and its infectious comorbidities is crucial for prognosis and therapy, yet remains underexplored. Methods We conducted a comprehensive post‐GWAS analysis using large‐scale summary statistics for AP and 16 infectious diseases. To pinpoint pleiotropic genes, we integrated

The Mediating Role of Positive Empathy in Resident Participation in Sustainable Tourism: Evidence From an Ancient Chinese Town

open access: yesInternational Journal of Tourism Research, Volume 28, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
ABSTRACT While sustainable tourism has attracted scholarly attention, understanding how resident positive empathy shapes participation in rural destinations remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by examining sustainable tourism in a remote rural setting through the lens of positive psychology.

Wärmeübergang beim Sieden von R12 an mehrreihigen Glattrohrbündeln

open access: yes, 1987
The effect of saturation temperature, heat flux density and number of rows of tubes on the heat transfer was studied in boiling of R-12. A correlation is presented for the heat transfer coefficient with the heat flux and saturation pressure. The experimental heat transfer data for bundles with a vertical row are valid only for fully developed boiling.

Advancing Model‐Based Systems Engineering in the Development of Naval Vessel Systems Architecture

open access: yesSystems Engineering, Volume 29, Issue 2, Page 241-263, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The increasing complexity of modern naval vessels due to technological advancements poses challenges for early‐stage ship design (ESSD). Developing well‐defined system architectures and adopting systems engineering approaches are essential to address these challenges.

Mechanisms Driving Transport and Accretion of Mud From Channels to Islands in a River‐Dominated Delta

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract River deltas are important landforms because they build coasts. Primary channels divide deltaic land into islands, which must accrete sediment fast enough for deltas to keep pace with sea level rise. Field observations are critical for determining the physical mechanisms that transport sediment between primary channels and islands, but are ...

Salt forms of a thioamide: protonation of 1‐(2,6‐dimethylphenyl)thiourea

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section C, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 129-137, March 2026.
Treating the thioamide 1‐(2,6‐dimethylphenyl)thiourea (DMPT) with concentrated aqueous strong acids gave three salt forms with protonation at the thioamide S atom. Protonation causes lengthening of the C=S bond and shortening of the C—N bonds in effects similar to those seen when amides are protonated at the O atom.Treating the thioamide 1‐(2,6 ...

Simulative and dissimulative masking: Resolving how educational practice that protects neurodivergent people from harm can suppress learning

open access: yesBritish Journal of Special Education, Volume 53, Issue 1, Page 5-17, March 2026.
Abstract The issue of how best to support neurodivergent learners with high need in educational settings has received much attention, with many questioning how an individual can be safeguarded while maintaining their autonomy. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), the authors draw on the experiences of neurodivergent learners, and their families ...
