THE NEW RECOMBINANT HAPLOTYPES r19 AND r20 IN RT1 THE MHC OF THE RAT

Two new recombinants, designated r19 and r20, have been found in RT1, the rat major histocompatibility complex. In both recombinants the A and I regions appear to be derived from one parental haplotype, and a further region, able to induce both skin graft rejection and cytotoxic lymphocytes is derived from the other.

Abstract Synthesis of the terminal disaccharide unit of a novel α-(1→2) linked heptoglycan of K. pneumoniae ssp. strain R20 from methyl α- d -mannopyranoside has been presented. Central to the strategy is the application of Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation to introduce a new center at C-6 position of mannopyranoside.

A 54-year-old man presented for the removal of a professional tattoo on the right upper arm. We initiated a comparative treatment with a q-switched 694-nm Ruby laser (TattooStar® Effect, Asclepion® Lasertechnologies, Jena, Germany, Spot: 4 mm, Fluence: 4 J/cm(2)) using the so-called R20-method.

Between the 3rd of March and 3rd of June 2020 Oxford Archaeology East carried out an openarea excavation on 2.22ha of land east of Kettering (SP 89740 77059; Fig. 1), in advance of a mixed development on Hanwood Park (formerly East Kettering Sustainable Urban Expansion) development Plots R20, R21b and DC3. Plot DC3 could not be accessed until July 2022.

AbstractRust and downy mildew (DM) are detrimental diseases in global sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) production. Disease often results in yield loss and reduced seed quality. Host resistance to DM and rust is mediated by single dominant genes in sunflower.
