Local energy approach to the dynamic glass transition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a new class of phenomenological models for dynamic glass transitions. The system consists of an ensemble of mesoscopic regions to which local energies are allocated.

DEVELOPMENT OF A SCROLL COMPRESSOR MODEL FOR PROPANE

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceHydrocarbons are today considered as promising alternative substances because of their low environmental impact and their easy implementation in heat pumps. The heat pumping technology is similar to that of HFCs.

Key benthic species are affected by predicted warming in winter but show resistance to ocean acidification

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2024.
We identified the effects of ocean warming in winter on mussels and algae and found evidence of resistance to acidification. We also discovered a mutually facilitative interaction between mussels and algae that was robust to changing environmental conditions.

Vapor-liquid equilibrium properties of binary mixture refrigerants (R1234ZE+R290, R290+R227ea)

open access: yes, 2014
The vapor-liquid equilibrium data is an important part of thermophysical properties of a new refrigerant. Theoretical predictions and experimental measurements of vapor-liquid equilibrium data of a new mixed working fluid become to be an urgent need for the researches on alternative refrigerants.

“Quantifying the Impacts of Multiple Stressors” (QIMS)—a new experimental platform for robust multifactorial experiments in benthic ecosystems

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, Volume 22, Issue 9, Page 670-680, September 2024.
Abstract To predict the ecological consequences of expected global change, we need to understand the independent and combined effects of multiple stressors. Multiple experimental treatments are required to simultaneously test for effects of multiple stressors at different levels of intensity, independently and combined, and at different levels of ...

Research on the Flammability Limits of R1234yf/R290 and R1234ze(E)/R290 Mixtures

open access: yesZhileng xuebao
Propane (R290) is a potential refrigerant substitute for household air conditioners. However, its flammability limits its application. In this study, the flammability limits of R290, 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (R1234yf), trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (

Effective temperatures in a simple model of non-equilibrium, non-Markovian dynamics

open access: yes, 2006
The concept of effective temperatures in nonequilibrium systems is studied within an exactly solvable model of non-Markovian diffusion. The system is coupled to two heat baths which are kept at different temperatures: one ('fast') bath associated with an

Experimental Research on Performance of Room Air Conditioner with Alternative Refrigerants at High Ambient Temperature

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2018
Alternative refrigerants such as R290 and R32 are gradually being applied to room air conditioners (RACs). This study tested the performances of R290, R22, R410A, and R32 in the same system.
