Mode of interaction between β-lactam antibiotics and the exocellular DD-carboxypeptidase–transpeptidase from Streptomyces R39. [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1976
The exocellular DD-carboxypeptidase-transpeptidase of Streptomyces R39 is inhibited by beta-lactam antibiotics according to the same general scheme of reaction as the exocellular DD-carboxypeptidase-transpeptidase of Streptomyces R61. However, the values for the kinetic constants involved in the reaction are very different for the two enzymes and ...

On the string interpretation of M(atrix) theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
It has been proposed recently that, in the framework of M(atrix) theory, N=8 supersymmetric U(N) Yang-Mills theory in 1+1 dimensions gives rise to type IIA long string configurations.

Interaction of clavulanate with the β-lactamases of Streptomyces albus G and Actinomadura R39 [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1982
The reactions of beta-lactamases of Actinomadura R39 and Streptomyces albus G with clavulanate proceed along branched pathways. Both enzymes perform the hydrolysis of this beta-lactam with rather high efficiencies (kcat. = 18s-1 and 52s-1 respectively). If large clavulanate/enzyme ratios are used, complete inactivation of the enzymes is observed.

Gravitational-wave flux for a particle orbiting a Kerr black hole to 20th post-Newtonian order: a numerical approach

open access: yes, 2014
In this article we present the post-Newtonian (pN) coefficients of the energy flux (and angular momentum flux) at infinity and event horizon for a particle in circular, equatorial orbits about a Kerr black hole (of mass $M$ and spin-parameter $a$) up to ...

dd -Carboxypeptidase-Transpeptidase and Killing Site of β-Lactam Antibiotics in Streptomyces Strains R39, R61, and K11 [PDF]

open access: yesAntimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, 1973
Additional evidence is given that in Streptomyces strains R39, R61, and K11 the same enzyme performs dd -carboxypeptidase and transpeptidase activities and that this enzyme is the killing site of β-lactam antibiotics. With strain R61, it was found that the exocellular enzyme has a sensitivity
