Exploratory Study on Carbon Dioxide Blends With Low‐GWP Working Fluids for Medium and High‐Temperature Heat Pumps Under Step Pressure

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 21, Issue 1, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates binary zeotropic mixtures of R744 (CO₂) blended with eco‐friendly refrigerants for medium‐high temperature heat pumps, comparing them with conventional R744/R134a systems. All mixtures meet 60–80 K temperature lift requirements under low‐temperature conditions. A genetic algorithm optimized system parameters using fixed

Singularity-free computation of quaternions from rotation matrices in E4 and E3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A real orthogonal matrix representing a rotation in E4 can be decomposed into the commutative product of a left-isoclinic and a right-isoclinic rotation matrix.

OPN‐Derived Peptides Generated by Proteasomes Can Promote Cell Migration via CD44 Activation

open access: yesJournal of Immunology Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Osteopontin (OPN) is a pleiotropic cytokine that is overexpressed in many autoimmune diseases and solid cancers. Here we show that the 20S proteasome can degrade, in vitro, both the full‐length OPN and the OPN‐C fragment generated in the extracellular space and produce both canonical and spliced peptides.

A Cell‐Penetrating Scorpion Venom Peptide Disrupts the HSP90β‐PPARα Interaction to Ameliorate Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesiMetaMed, Volume 1, Issue 2, December 2025.
In MASLD, increased HSP90β interacts with PPARα, thereby inhibiting PPARα activation via the inhibition of its nuclear translocation. BmK Tx‐2, a cell‐penetrating peptide from Buthus martensii Karsch scorpion venom, enters hepatocytes via macropinocytosis and escapes endosomes to bind HSP90β.

Photoluminescence from Defects in Be‐Doped GaN

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 262, Issue 12, December 2025.
A blue photoluminescence band (labeled BLBe) with a maximum at 2.6 eV and a lifetime of 0.8 μs is observed in Be‐doped GaN samples. It is preliminarily attributed to electron transitions via the 0/+ thermodynamic transition level of the BeGa defect located at 0.15±0.05 eV above the valence band.

2-Hydroxyimino-1-phenylethanone thiosemicarbazone monohydrate

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2008
In the title thiosemicarbazone derivative, C9H10N4OS·H2O, intramolecular N—H...N hydrogen bonds result in the formation of two nearly coplanar five- and six-membered rings, which are also almost coplanar with the adjacent phenyl ring.
