A solution to the degree-d twisted rabbit problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We solve generalizations of Hubbard's twisted rabbit problem for analogues of the rabbit polynomial of degree $d\geq 2$. The twisted rabbit problem asks: when a certain quadratic polynomial, called the Douady Rabbit polynomial, is twisted by a cyclic subgroup of a mapping class group, to which polynomial is the resulting map equivalent (as a function ...

Integrative analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients: a comprehensive approach

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

Plasma‐activated media selectively induces apoptotic death via an orchestrated oxidative stress pathway in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
High‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) is the most common and aggressive type of ovarian cancer with urgent need for new treatment strategies. This study evaluates plasma‐activated media (PAM) as a novel treatment for HGSOC, showing its ability to selectively induce oxidative stress and apoptosis in HGSOC cell lines, patient ascites cells and primary

Low Power Implementation of Trivium Stream Cipher [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper describes a low power hardware implementation of the Trivium stream cipher based on shift register parallelization techniques. The de-sign was simulated with Modelsim, and synthesized with Synopsys in three CMOS technologies with different ...

The PTTG1/VASP axis promotes oral squamous cell carcinoma metastasis by modulating focal adhesion and actin filaments

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
VASP was found to be overexpressed in metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues. Notably, PTTG1‐ and VASP‐deficient OSCC cells demonstrated suppressed metastatic properties by disrupting the interaction between the cytoskeleton and focal adhesion (FAs) in the filopodia region.

Statistical Properties of the Square Map Modulo a Power of Two [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The square map is one of the functions that is used in cryptography. For instance, the square map is used in Rabin encryption scheme, block cipher RC6 and stream cipher Rabbit, in different forms.

RC4 Encryption-A Literature Survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A chronological survey demonstrating the cryptanalysis of RC4 stream cipher is presented in this paper. We have summarized the various weaknesses of RC4 algorithm followed by the recently proposed enhancements available in the literature.

SKA1 promotes oncogenic properties in oral dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma, and augments resistance to radiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The mitosis‐related gene SKA1 was among 629 genes consistently dysregulated in OSCC across nine public gene expression datasets. In OSCC cell lines, SKA1 promoted proliferation and migration, enhanced radioresistance, and reduced radiation‐induced senescence.

Obesity alters the fitness of peritumoral adipose tissue, exacerbating tumor invasiveness in renal cancer through the induction of ADAM12 and CYP1B1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...
