Rac1-dependent regulation of osteoclast and osteoblast differentiation by developmentally regulated GTP-binding 2

open access: yesCell Death Discovery
Multiple small GTPases play crucial roles in bone homeostasis by regulating the differentiation and function of bone cells, including osteoclasts and osteoblasts.

Knowledge Building Insights on Biomarkers of Arsenic Toxicity to Keratinocytes and Melanocytes

open access: yesBiomarker Insights, 2012
Exposure to inorganic arsenic induces skin cancer and abnormal pigmentation in susceptible humans. High-throughput gene transcription assays such as DNA microarrays allow for the identification of biological pathways affected by arsenic that lead to ...

Mechanical Cues Regulate Cargo Sorting and Export at the Golgi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, 5 January 2026.
A pathway is identified linking extracellular matrix stiffness to secretion via Src–FAK–AMPK–GBF1 signaling. Golgi‐localized GBF1 acts as a mechanotransducer whose phosphorylation controls post‐Golgi cargo sorting toward secretion or lysosomal degradation.

Baishaoluoshi Decoction Mitigates Post‐Stroke Spasticity by Targeting Synaptic Plasticity Through the Nogo‐A/NgR Signaling Pathway

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Baishaoluoshi Decoction alleviates post‐stroke spasticity by downregulating inhibitory proteins (Nogo‐A/NgR) in the peri‐infarct brain region and reducing NgR/Olig2 co‐localization in oligodendrocytes, thereby enhancing synaptic plasticity. ABSTRACT Objective: This study systematically investigated the effects and molecular mechanisms of Baishaoluoshi ...

Myofibroblast‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Drive Profibrotic Cascade Amplification in Pulmonary Fibrosis via the Nestin‐Rab7 Axis

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal fibrotic lung disease characterized by aberrant myofibroblast activation and excessive extracellular matrix deposition, with extracellular vesicles (EVs) playing a crucial role in this pathological process. We observed that EVs levels are significantly elevated in IPF and positively correlate with

Beyond Oncogenesis: The Role of S-Phase Kinase-Associated Protein-2 (SKP2) In Vascular Restenosis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gerontology, 2008
The clinical benefits of percutaneous coronary intervention, the most prevalent procedure nowadays for the treatment of symptomatic coronary artery disease, are frequently offset by the occurrence of vascular restenosis. Although the introduction of drug-

Melanoma: Pathogenesis and Targeted Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
The treatment landscape for advanced melanoma has evolved significantly. BRAF–MEK inhibitor combinations are standard for BRAF‐mutant melanoma, whereas targeting NRAS mutations is more challenging, with MEK inhibitors like tunlametinib emerging as an option.

Wnt Signaling Pathway: Biological Function, Diseases, and Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
The Wnt signaling pathway is essential for development and tissue homeostasis, while its dysregulation drives diverse diseases. This review systematically outlines its components, functions, regulators, and preclinical models, highlighting secreted frizzled‐related proteins (SFRPs) as context‐dependent, biphasic modulators.

Abnormal Expression of p120-catenin and E-cadherin Is Significantly Correlated with Malignant Phenotype of Human Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2009
Background and objective To explore the correlation between p120-catenin (p120ctn) and small GTPases in human lung cancer, and their effect on the cell-cell adhesion, we examined the expression patterns of p120ctn and Rac1, which is the core member of ...

Signaling from the small GTP-binding proteins Rac1 and Cdc42 to the c-Jun N-terminal kinase/stress-activated protein kinase pathway. A role for mixed lineage kinase 3/protein-tyrosine kinase 1, a novel member of the mixed lineage kinase family.

open access: yesThe Journal of biological chemistry, 1996
Certain small GTP-binding proteins control the enzymatic activity of a family of closely related serine-threonine kinases known as mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs). In turn, these MAPKs, such as p44(mapk) and p42(mapk), referred to herein as MAPKs, and stress-activated protein kinases, also termed c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs), phosphorylate
