High radon levels and adverse environmental conditions in using RAD7
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2023Abstract Good response was observed in simultaneously using six RAD7 detectors at high radon concentrations, temperatures and relative humidity conditions. RAD7 detectors were tested in laboratory using radon chambers from 13 up to 59.8 kBq m−3, statistical analysis allows to distinct between counting errors and radon variation.

RAD7 homologues contribute to Arabidopsis UV tolerance
Plant Science, 2018Frequent exposure of plants to solar ultraviolet radiation (UV) results in damaged DNA. One mechanism of DNA repair is the light independent pathway Global Genomic Nucleotide Excision Repair (GG-NER), which repairs UV damaged DNA throughout the genome.

Transposition of the gene cluster CYC1-OSM1-RAD7 in yeast
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1981Abstract A mutant of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae contains an increased amount of iso-1-cytochrome c because two copies of a segment, denoted COR, were transposed to a new position on chromosome VII, while the original COR region was retained at the normal position on chromosome X; this COR segment encompasses the CYC1, OSM1 and RAD7 loci which

The Effect of RAD7 Gene’s Null Mutation on Single-Cell Aging
Microbial Bioactive, 2022Background: Although different theories and hypotheses were postulated for aging, molecular mechanisms of its regulations are still vastly unknown. In time, a post-mitotic cell ages with the aggregation of mutations within its genome and reach senescence. The DNA repair system that protects its genome also malfunctions with time.

Determination of radon concentration in water using RAD7 with RAD H2O accessories
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015In the last decade, the radon issue has become one of the major problems of radiation protection. Radon exposure occurs when using water for showering, washing dishes, cooking and drinking water. RAD7 and Rad H20 accessories were used in order to measure radon concentration in water sample.

Radon gas is a significant health threat linked to thousands of preventable deaths each year. In this paper, radon activity concentration is measured in 260 groundwater samples collected from 65 villages in the Bathinda district of Punjab State, India, using Rad7, an electronic radon detector (Durridge Co., USA). The radon concentration varies from 0.9

The ability to remove ultraviolet (UV)-induced pyrimidine dimers from the nuclear DNA of yeast was examined in two radiation-sensitive (rad) mutants and one methyl methanesulfonate-sensitive (mms) mutant of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The susceptibility of DNA from irradiated cells to nicking by an endonuclease activity prepared from crude ...

Zastosowanie przenośnego detektora RAD7 do badania koncentracji radonu w wodzie
Nafta-GazW artykule przedstawiono metodykę badania koncentracji radonu w próbkach wody z zastosowaniem aparatury RAD7. Aparatura ta została dodatkowo wyposażona w systemem Big Bottle, przeznaczony do określania niskich stężeń radonu w wodzie. W ramach pracy przeprowadzono szereg badań terenowych i laboratoryjnych, a najważniejsze wyniki zestawiono i opisano w ...
