Measurement of Radon Concentrations in Mineral Water of Iraqi Local Markets Using RAD7 Technique [PDF]

open access: yesNature Environment and Pollution Technology, 2020
The effective technique of RAD7 has been applied to determine the concentrations of radon and annual effective dose of mineral water samples collected from Iraqi local markets.

RAD7 Gene of Saccharomyces cerevisiae: Transcripts, Nucleotide Sequence Analysis, and Functional Relationship between the RAD7 and RAD23 Gene Products [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular and Cellular Biology, 1986
The RAD7 gene of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was cloned on a 4.0-kilobase (kb) DNA fragment and shown to provide full complementation of a rad7-delta mutant strain. The nucleotide sequence of a 2.2-kb DNA fragment which contains the complete RAD7 gene was determined. Transcription of the RAD7 gene initiates at multiple sites in a region spanning positions

Radon concentration measurement in water reservoirs for some areas of north Baghdad by RAD7 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Radon is a naturally occurring, odorless, colorless, radioactive, tasteless, and noble gas. Radon concentrations have been measured by the usage of alpha spectroscopy (RAD-7). The RAD-7 measuring process is based on detecting alpha particles produced from the disintegration of radon and its products using a solid-state alpha ...

Repair of plasmid and genomic DNA in arad7Δ mutant of yeast [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1995
Repair of UV-induced cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs) was examined in a yeast plasmid of known chromatin structure and in genomic DNA in a radiation-sensitive deletion mutant of yeast, rad7 delta, and its isogenic wild-type strain. A whole plasmid repair assay revealed that only approximately 50% of the CPDs in plasmid DNA are repaired after 6 h in

The yeast DNA repair proteins RAD1 and RAD7 share similar putative functional domains [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1991
Sequence information on eukaryotic DNA repair proteins provided so far only few clues concerning possible functional domains. Since the DNA repair process involves a strict sequential complex formation of several proteins [(1988) FASEB J. 2, 2696–2701], we searched for special protein‐protein interacting domains, which consist of tandemly repeated ...

Studying the Possibility of using Paint to Reduce the Amount of Radon Gas Emitted from Cement

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2022
In the present work, it had been measured the concentration of radon gas (CRn) for (10) samples of cement used in constructions before and after painting them using enamel paint, purchased from the local markets, to see the extent of its ability to ...

Soil radon exhalation rate measurement in Duhok city by two techniques [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Technology and Radiation Protection, 2022
Radon exhalation rate is the rate of radioactive radon gas that escapes from the soil into the atmosphere. In this study exhalation rate of radon was measured for 33 samples of soil, in four districts of Duhok province, using two different ...

Measurement of Radon Concentration in Water within Ojo Axis of Lagos State, Nigeria

open access: yesAnalytica, 2022
Background: The problem of radon (Radon-222) in water is one of the daily health hazards faced by those in Ojo Axis, Nigeria. Therefore, continuous monitoring of radon contamination in different types of water is essential.

Further refinements of a continuous radon monitor for surface ocean water measurements

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2022
Radon is an excellent natural tracer for studying various geophysical processes. In the past centuries, radon isotopes measurement approaches for marine research have been fully developed but still suffer limitations.

Interaction of the yeast RAD7 and SIR3 proteins: implications for DNA repair and chromatin structure. [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Development, 1994
We have used the two-hybrid system to identify proteins that interact with the product of RAD7, a gene involved in DNA repair. A screen of a yeast genomic DNA-GAL4 activation domain (GAD) fusion gene library allowed the isolation of plasmids containing sequences corresponding to the 3' end of the SIR3 gene.
