Extension and Radial Growth in Trees
Nature, 1950IT has already been reported1 that in the broad-leaved trees of India the extension growth or height growth usually precedes the radial growth, and that the gap between these two activities varies from two weeks to three months, irrespective of the fact whether the trees produce ring-porous or diffuse-porous woods. Since 1947, further investigation has

Radial Lengthening for Septic Growth Arrest
Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics, 1983A case is presented of a child who sustained septic growth arrest of the distal radial epiphysis following osteomyelitis at 5 weeks of age. At age 8 years and 8 months radial lengthening using the Wagner apparatus was performed. Two and one-half centimeters of total length (18% of original length) was gained.

Radial Anisotropic Growth of Rhodium Nanoparticles
Nano Letters, 2005In this contribution, we report the synthesis of rhodium multipods that result from a homogeneous seeded growth mechanism. Small Rh nanocrystal seeds were synthesized by the reduction of RhCl3 in ethylene glycol in the presence of PVP. These seed particles could be subsequently used, without isolation, to form larger rhodium nanoparticles.

Radial limits and radial growth of cauchy-stieltjes transforms
Complex Variables, Theory and Application: An International Journal, 1993This paper studies the radial limit and me radial growth of functions defined by where μ is a complex-valued Borel measure. The results depend on local properties of the measure μ. Various nontangential limits associated with f are shown to hold off exceptional sets whose s -capacity is zero.

Radial growth dynamics of nanowires
Journal of Crystal Growth, 2001In this brief paper, wt: address the problem of the radial growth dynamics of a nanowire due to the vapor-solid (VS) process while at the same time it grows along its axial direction due to vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) process. We show that there exists a critical radius at a certain saturation and that the nanowire will thicken if its initial radius is ...

The growth of monocrystals from a punctual seed shows, after sometimes, four or six petal fingers depending on the crystal symmetry. In the limit of very small Peclet numbers, they are comparable to anomalous fingers growing in a wedge. It is the reason why we examine numerically the selection of self-similar growing fingers by an anisotropic surface ...

UNIVALENT FUNCTIONS AND RADIAL GROWTH
Mathematika, 2015Summary: We address a question raised by \textit{J. M. Anderson} et al. [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 171, No. 1--2, 27--37 (2004; Zbl 1059.30013)] relating to a classical result on univalent functions \(f\) in the unit disc due to Spencer, and involving the size of the set of \(\theta\in [-\pi,\pi]\) for which we have \[ \log |f(r\mathrm{e}^{\mathrm{i ...

Ulnar Growth Patterns in Radial Longitudinal Deficiency
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2006To determine the association between centralization surgical procedures and the longitudinal growth of the ulna in radial longitudinal deficiency (RLD).The charts of 90 patients with 124 affected limbs were reviewed. Thirty-four patients were affected bilaterally and 56 were affected unilaterally. Based on the Bayne and Klug classification there were 5

Statistical analysis of radial interface growth
Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment, 2012Recent studies have questioned the application of standard scaling analysis to study radially growing interfaces (Escudero 2008 Phys. Rev. Lett. 100 116101; 2009 Ann. Phys. 324 1796). We show that the radial Edwards–Wilkinson (EW) equation belongs to the same universality as that obtained in the planar geometry.

RADIAL GROWTH IN BEAUCARNEA RECURVATA
American Journal of Botany, 1980An essentially unidirectional lateral meristem differentiates in the outer cortex at the hypocotyl‐primary root juncture. This meristem, termed the secondary thickening meristem (STM), then differentiates acropetally towards the shoot apex. It produces secondary tissue (conjunctive tissue) centripetally.
