Spin angular momentum of Gaussian beams with several polarization singularities
We study a paraxial vector Gaussian beam with several polarization singularities located on a circle. Such a beam is superposition of a cylindrically polarized Laguerre-Gaussian beam and a linearly polarized Gaussian beam.

Design and Fabrication of a Holographic Radial Polarization Converter
Radial polarization converters can convert an incident light into a radially polarized light, which is beneficial in a variety of applications. In this paper, a new design of holographic radial polarization converter is proposed which consists of eight ...

Detection and manipulation of radially polarized terahertz (THz) radiation is essential for many applications. A new measurement scheme is proposed for the diagnosis of radially polarized THz radiation from a longitudinal dc-biased plasma filament, by ...

In this work, we study several different vector and hybrid light fields, including those with multiple polarization singularities. We derive polarization singularity indices by adopting a well-known M.V.

Minimal Focal Spot Size Measured Based on Intensity and Power Flow
It is shown, theoretically and numerically, that the distributions of the longitudinal energy flow for tightly focused light with circular and linear polarization are the same, and that the spot has circular symmetry.

Laguerre-Gaussian modes generated vector beam via nonlinear magneto-optical rotation
Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) beams contain a helical phase front with a doughnut-like intensity profile. We use the LG beam to introduce a rather simple method for generation of a vector beam (VB), a beam with spatially-dependent polarization in the beam cross

Radial Polarization Interferometer
We propose and demonstrate a new interferometric approach in which a uniform phase difference between the arms of the interferometer manifests itself as spatially varying intensity distribution. The approach is based on interfering two orthogonal spatially varying vector fields, the radially and azimuthally polarized beams, and measuring the projection

Spin Hall Effect in the Paraxial Light Beams with Multiple Polarization Singularities
Elements of micromachines can be driven by light, including structured light with phase and/or polarization singularities. We investigate a paraxial vectorial Gaussian beam with multiple polarization singularities residing on a circle.

Improvement of Laser Trapping Based Microprobe in Laser Shaded Condition
A micro-probe based on laser trapping has been proposed for the probe system of a nano-coordinate measuring machine. This study focused on the “shadow effect,” which is the case wherein a partial beam for laser trapping is shaded by the ...
