Spin and pseudospin symmetries of the Dirac equation with confining central potentials

open access: yes, 2013
We derive the node structure of the radial functions which are solutions of the Dirac equation with scalar $S$ and vector $V$ confining central potentials, in the conditions of exact spin or pseudospin symmetry, i.e., when one has $V=\pm S+C$, where $C ...

Slight Truncation Changes in Iron Oxide Nanocubes Strongly Affect Their Magnetic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Subtle variations in nanoparticle morphology can lead to significant changes in functional properties. An automated shape‐fitting method captures minor differences in corner truncation between iron oxide nanocubes of similar sizes synthesized under identical conditions, revealing pronounced disparities in their magnetic and hyperthermia behavior ...

SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Regularity and symmetry of positive solutions to nonlinear integral systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2011
In this article, we consider the regularity and symmetry of positive solutions to the nonlinear integral system $$ u(x)=int_{mathbb{R}^n}K_{alpha}(x-y)frac{v(y)^q}{|y|^eta},dy, quad v(x)=int_{mathbb{R}^n}K_{alpha}(x-y)frac{u(y)^p}{|y|^eta},dy ...

Coulomb-Type Interaction under Lorentz Symmetry Breaking Effects

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2017
Based on models of confinement of quarks, we analyse a relativistic scalar particle subject to a scalar potential proportional to the inverse of the radial distance and under the effects of the violation of the Lorentz symmetry.

Decoupling for surfaces with radial symmetry

open access: yes
We utilise the two principles of decoupling introduced in [arXiv:2407.16108] to prove decoupling for two types of surfaces exhibiting radial symmetry. The first type are surfaces of revolution in $\mathbb R^n$ generated by smooth surfaces in $\mathbb R^3$.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

RADIAL SYMMETRY OF MINIMAX CRITICAL POINTS FOR NONSMOOTH FUNCTIONALS [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Contemporary Mathematics, 2011
We obtain the existence of radially symmetric and decreasing solutions to a general class of quasi-linear elliptic problems by a nonsmooth version of a symmetric minimax principle recently obtained by Van Schaftingen.
