Anatomic Variation in the Origin and Course of Radial Artery: A Descriptive Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2019
Introduction: The radial artery is commonly originated from the brachial artery in the cubital fossa at the level of the neck of the radius. It is the artery of choice for coronary artery angiography, percutaneous coronary artery intervention ...

Radial variation of solar‐wind parameters

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 1976
It is demonstrated that since fluctuations in the solar wind are not small, they can have important effects on the observed average values of parameters in the solar wind and their radial variation. The effect is distinct from the dynamical effect of waves and turbulence and results from the averaging process.

Validation of a X-Ray densitometry method for the determination of Eucalyptus grandis and Eucalyptus urophylla radial density profile [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The X-ray densitometry is considered one of the main non-destructive techniques for the analysis of wood due to the high precision and practicality. The method has been applied in determining the density of the wood, and the density variation is a result

The Origin of Color Gradients in Early-Type Systems and Their Compactness at High-z

open access: yes, 2009
In this Letter, we present mean optical+NIR color gradient estimates for 5080 early-type galaxies (ETGs) in the grizYJHK wavebands of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) plus UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS). The color gradient is estimated as the

Pulsation-induced atmospheric dynamics in M-type AGB stars. Effects on wind properties, photometric variations and near-IR CO line profiles

open access: yes, 2017
Wind-driving in asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars is commonly attributed to a two-step process. First, matter in the stellar atmosphere is levitated by shock waves, induced by stellar pulsation, and second, this matter is accelerated by radiation ...

Uncertainty quantification of leakages in a multistage simulation and comparison with experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The present paper presents a numerical study of the impact of tip gap uncertainties in a multistage turbine. It is well known that the rotor gap can change the gas turbine efficiency but the impact of the random variation of the clearance height has not ...

Radio frequency induced and neoclassical asymmetries and their effects on turbulent impurity transport in a tokamak

open access: yes, 2013
Poloidal asymmetries in the impurity density can be generated by radio frequency heating in the core and by neoclassical effects in the edge of tokamak plasmas.
