Cumulative Radiation Effects on Sexual Reproduction in Pine and Oak
Trees in a natural pitch pine-oak forest have been exposed to varying amounts of low-level chronic gamma radiation for several years. Responses range from lethality to minute morphological changes, depending upon dose rate and species.

A summary of UNSCEAR 2019 report on lung cancer from exposure to radon and research needs
The annex B of the UNSCEAR 2019 Report presented a comprehensive review of dosimetric and epidemiological assessments published in the period 2006 to 2017 for deriving conversion factors for calculating the dose from a given exposure to radon (222Rn ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Effects of ionizing radiation on man.
This paper describes the major effects of ionizing radiation on man and the relationship between such effects and radiation dose, with the conclusion that standards of radiological safety must be based on the carcinogenetic and mutagenic properties of ...

[18F]Fluorodeprenyl‐D2 PET as a Tool to Monitor Disease Activity in GAD65‐Ab Autoimmune Encephalitis
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate [18F]fluorodeprenyl‐D2 ([18F]F‐DED) positron‐emission tomography (PET) imaging as a biomarker of disease activity in autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) associated with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibodies. Methods [18F]F‐DED PET was performed in 25 GAD65‐AIE patients and 8 controls using dynamic (0–60 min) and ...

Limitations of serial cloning in mammals
Mammals can now be cloned artificially, but it remains unknown whether they can also maintain their species through cloning. Herein, we continued serial cloning for 20 years from a single donor mouse.
