exoALMA. XVI. Predicting Signatures of Large-scale Turbulence in Protoplanetary Disks
Turbulent gas motions drive planet formation and protoplanetary disk evolution. However, empirical constraints on turbulence are scarce, halting our understanding of its nature.

The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

3D Monte Carlo radiative transfer simulations for fractal-shaped cloud patterns
The Monte Carlo Atmospheric Radiative Transfer Simulator (MCARaTS) is used to perform 3D radiative transfer simulations for 4 different fractal-shaped cloud patterns to study how horizontal radiative energy exchanges between cloud-free and cloudy regions

SImulation of the epoch of reionziation : radiative transfer

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Three-dimensional continuum radiative transfer simulations of dusty systems
3D continuum radiative transfer is one of the remaining grand challenge problems in computational astrophysics. Yet it is key to understanding the three-dimensional structure of astronomical objects for which we can observe only two-dimensional ...

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Clouds, photolysis and regional tropospheric ozone budgets. [PDF]
We use a three-dimensional chemical transport model to examine the shortwave radiative effects of clouds on the tropospheric ozone budget. In addition to looking at changes in global concentrations as previous studies have done, we examine changes in ...
